My Favourite Beauty Products At The Moment

Pixi Shea Butter Tinted Lip Balms

Since I mainly share outfits and fashion related blog posts, I thought it might actually be nice to share with you some of my favourite beauty products that I’m using and loving at the moment. So many of us girls adore make-up and creams, yet it’s not really something I have covered much, but I am planning to do more of!

So, I’ve got a little mix of products that I use and can’t be without right now, photographed here for you and I’ve given a little review of each one just below as well as the links to buy. I tend to find certain products and stick with them, so since I covered my make-up routine and my skin care routine a few months ago, I wont duplicate those products since I already spoke about them. Just keep in mind that those are still my all time favourites too!

HoneyBee Gardens Watercolour Nail Polish

Colours: Tuscany, Mocha Latte, Valentine

Ok, so above I have my nail polishes. Those of you who are readers of my blog already will know that I am highly allergic to the strong chemical smell in nail polish, it makes me really sick, so putting it on my fingernails which are always so close to my face is a no go. I’m ok with it on my toes if I paint them outside in the air and stay out there for a while until it’s dry, since they are far away from my face, but for my nails I use HoneyBee Gardens Watercolour Nail Polish. It’s actually amazing as it’s water based and chemical free, meaning it literally has no scent. I can paint my nails with this anytime I want, with the windows closed too since there is no smell. There’s not a huge amount of colours to choose from, but I adore these three and I also have the french manicure set too! I definitely recommend this for those who have a smell allergy too! It doesn’t last as long as regular polish as it chips easier, but it’s amazing for someone like me who can’t use regular nail polish! I can’t be without this now!

Somerset Toiletry Company Milk Shea Butter Hand Cream
Somerset Toiletry Company Mango & Passion Fruit Body Butter

I recently got these gorgeous creams from The Somerset Toiletry Company and fell in love with them. The hand cream is amazing. I’m usually really picky when it comes to hand creams as some just dry out too quickly and have no effect while others are just sticky. This one is scented as the Milk flavour, but it’s more of a light floral fragrance more than anything, not too strong at all, but it contains 20% Shea butter so it is really creamy! It smooths onto your hands nicely and lasts ages too, it’s definitely a product I have been using everyday!

Next is a body butter, it’s Mango & Passion Fruit scented and smells absolutely delicious, almost good enough to eat actually! It’s so soft though, I use this after I get out of the shower and it really makes my skin so smooth and silky, I actually can’t be without this now either. I’m addicted to body butters, usually using the ones from Body Shop, but this one is so good, plus it’s cheaper! It almost has a jelly like consistency when you put it on, but spreads out perfectly. It’s the smell I’m addicted to though, it’s so fruity so it doesn’t irritate me at all.

Origins Dr. Weil Mega-Bright Skin Tone Correcting Serum
Origins Night-A-Mins Moisturiser

Now these are two products that I bought myself around my birthday, as a little present. As I have mentioned before, I have a lot of scarring on my face, especially on my cheeks and forehead due to previously bad acne, so removing those has been something that I have struggled with for a long while, even after having a lot of low grade chemical peels. I got this Origins Dr. Weil Mega-Bright Skin Tone Correcting Serum after trying a sample of it and it’s actually one of the best products I have used. My scars are fading quite a considerable amount and I’ve only been using it about 4 weeks so far. It’s doing an amazing job and it smells really fruity too, it’s incredibly good at evening out skin tone, I’m actually so impressed with this serum, that’s why I had to include it! It also has a little glittery sheen to it, so your skin looks more dewy and healthy too!

Then next I have the Origins Night-A-Mins Moisturiser. I got this just after the serum as I had heard so many good things about it, and I have to say, it really is good. It’s a very heavy cream though so it’s probably not suitable for those with oily skin (unless you get the oil free version) as it sits quite thickly on the skin. It’s a night time cream only though so it gets to work as you sleep. I tell you, when I wake up in the morning and look at my skin, I’m amazed. It’s glowing, it’s healthy, it’s shining (in a good way) and it just looks so hydrated and plump, this is something I can’t be without now either. I don’t use it every single night as I find that a little too much for me, but most nights I do and it does its job perfectly. It really does seem to make skin more vibrant and more luminous, also making my make-up go on easier the next day.

Pixi Shea Butter Tinted Lip Balms

Where do I even begin with my Pixi lip products! I found out about the brand a few months back when I was looking around online and ended up purchasing one of their lip tints below, which I will speak about in a moment, but these lip balms are amazing! They have Shea butter in them so they are incredibly soft and moisturising, but they are tinted. I suppose they are similar to the Baby Lips from Maybelline, however these are better in my opinion. The colour is stronger and they are creamier, so they last longer. I have them in Coral, Pink and Red, so all of the colours that I need and I wear them often. They are so useful to just give your lips some hydration and colour at the same time! I originally bought the pink one online, then purchased the coral and red in the Pixi boutique in London!

Now these Pixi Tinted Brilliance Balms I live in! I got the Coral colour first online and was so impressed with them. I always have trouble finding a lip colour that lasts (even if it says it does and others agree with that), I tend to have porous lips so the colour fades fast for some reason. With these though, they literally last ages! They don’t even claim to, they just do. The lip product itself is really creamy and silky, so it goes on a bit like a lip gloss, but thicker and tinted strongly, so your lips are left hydrated all the time, meaning the colour doesn’t fade. If I put this on once before I leave the house, it lasts up until I decide to eat, and even after that, the colour is still outlined perfectly and still on my lips, just faded a bit, so you only need to just brush it over once again and it’s back to normal. This is all I need to do and it lasts for as long as I need, no regular bathroom touch ups or anything, so this is perfect for me!

The only problem these have sometimes is if your lips are a bit dry, the colour can go a bit ‘bitty’ in places, but just rub your lips together to spread it out and it’s fine. I have the Coral, Pink and Red colours in these as well. You can also put the Shea lip balms underneath these for extra moisture! You may have noticed that anytime I’m wearing a lip colour in my photos recently, these are always what I’m wearing! I really think Pixi deserve more recognition as a brand as they truly are amazing!
