4th of July & The USA So Far
Hello from the United States of America! I know it’s been a little while since I updated you all with a blog post, but I’ve been having so much fun and crossing things off of my list that I didn’t find the time to write one up until now! I have been keeping you all updated on Instagram though with my stories and reels, so if you’re not yet following me there, please do! There’s so much exclusive content! Now I will say, despite having an amazing time here, the journey getting here wasn’t so great. The delay at Heathrow was over an hour, they didn’t have the plane at the gate and we had to take a bus to the farthest terminal away, which delayed us so much. We arrived into JFK pretty late, and I was waiting over an hour in the immigration border control line. I was nervous my luggage wouldn’t make it safely as Heathrow was having so much trouble with luggage going missing, but it did, thankfully! Then at JFK all the food places were shut, my plane was delayed for over an hour as there was no gate and plane available, and by this point I had been up for almost 24 hours, running on 3 hours sleep, and I felt sick. I finally got on the last plane, and 40 minutes in, I felt so sick that I actually ended up vomiting on the plane into a bag. It was really bad. I just felt super nauseous and that hasn’t happened with flying before. I then threw up in the car after on the way to my friend’s house. It was quite the experience, ha ha. I can look back and laugh now, but at the time it was awful. Anyway, onto the good stuff!
First of all, getting to spend my very first 4th of July here with friends was incredible! Last year I enjoyed it via FaceTime, but this time, it was in person and it was everything that I had hoped for! The parade was really cool, the fireworks were amazing, seeing my friends was wonderful, and dressing in red, white, and blue, waving the American flag was so exciting! You can see all of the 4th of July celebration photos above, but if you want to see a video, click here.
Here are some cute shots of Christen and I at the pool! I can’t share videos here since it’s only photos, but there were many on my Instagram. It was my first time going to an outdoor pool! This red bikini was from Shein too, so it was super affordable. Click here to buy it.
We went to a sports place to drive go carts, play mini golf, and go in the batting cages! It was so much fun! I’ve never hit baseballs before, but I did a pretty good job if you saw the videos! Go carts were amazing though, and I did win mini golf! He he!
Some shots of the plane in London, then a New York sunset.
Trying on some cute clothes in American Eagle! My favourite shop here! Click here for the shorts.
There was a huge electrical lightning storm here too! It was insane!
The weather has been around 80-90 degrees the whole time and I love it!
A beautiful sunset and a selfie! I love Ohio! How are you guys anyway? Lorna xx.
Lovely photos, Lorna, I am glad that you are having a great time. For me, it’s another fourth of July, seen so many of them. I’ll trade ya and spend some time in the UK, much more interesting! I’m sorry about your terrible flight and being so sick, and glad that you felt better quickly! Have fun! ๐ฌ๐งโค๏ธ๐ฌ๐ง
