A Romance Novel Aesthetic With Very.co.uk

I’m very excited to be collaborating with Very.co.uk again! One of my favourite brands to work with, and I think this might be my favourite theme to date! It’s no secret that I love reading; I have an entire Bookstagram dedicated to it! Books have been a love of mine since I was a child, so when I saw the narrative for this campaign, I was ecstatic!

World Book Day was this month, and as we have just turned the page on winter and stepped confidently into spring, it’s about becoming your own main character. There’s nothing better than escaping into a great story, in my opinion. Falling in love with the worlds and characters that are created, feeling like you know them and are a part of their lives. But instead of getting completely lost in someone else’s narrative, it’s time to live your own.

I would say that Romance and Romantasy are my two favourite genres, so of course I’m going to be living my own Romance novel and becoming my own Main Character! The Romantic – the heart of every story! When I think of the main female character in a romance novel, I’m thinking soft silhouettes, floaty fabrics, the colour pink, and effortless, feminine movement. These traits really define this aesthetic. I’m thinking delicate details, feminine shapes and pieces made for picnic dates, spontaneous daytime activities and sunlit strolls.

I have always been one to embrace self-expression in every sense, whether that’s clothing, hobbies, hairstyles, movies, or especially books! From discovering my next favourite read to finding my perfect dresses, these are things that define my new-season identity. Nothing beats this like stepping into a book shop, smelling the fresh paper in the air, and knowing that there are endless worlds in front of you, just waiting to be selected! And doing this in your perfect spring outfit? Even better!

Now, getting to the main event, my main character romance novel outfit! I wore this beautiful Roman Petite Tie Front Dress with an amazing peach and pink floral design. I love the wrap-around tie-waist of dresses. I think it’s so feminine and flattering! I paired this piece with these The Very Collection Embellished Gold Sandals. I thought adding a little sparkle and gold to this ensemble in an elegant, more subtle way would perfectly balance the feminine vibes. Then, to finish it off, I chose this Accessorize Cream Satin Bow Hair Clip, with a woven basket bag that I already own.

I don’t just read physical books; I read digital ones too, hence why I am showcasing this beautiful Amazon Kindle E-Reader here in Sage Green. I thought this colour was perfect to go with my romantic outfit, and even more perfect for an afternoon of reading in the park, surrounded by nature. This is something that I love to do as you get a full-rounded experience for relaxing and being entertained. I can do this with physical books or with a Kindle, either works for me, but this setting is something straight out of a romance novel, in my opinion. The running water, the stone bridge across the pond, the blossom trees… It’s beautiful!
