I got these Christian Louboutin Legionana flats on Ebay for a good deal! Don’t worry, I had them authenticated by the lovely ladies at TPF 🙂 They fit perfectly but the patent was a bit scuffed up and had some scratches on them so I decided to glitter them! I know you can already buy a pair that are glittered but they are seasons old and I wouldn’t be able to find any like that anymore, so I thought, why not give these ones a new life? I used Gem Tac glue which dries clear, I spread a thin layer over the shoe with a paint brush and then simply sprinkled the glitter onto the glue. It was a bit messy but I am really pleased with the turn out! So here are my DIY Christian Louboutin Legionana Flats now with glitter!
If you right click the images and press view image you can see them in higher resolution. I am also working on a pair of Christian Louboutin Rose Pink Yo Yo 100’s which I am strassing (crystallizing). I am putting Fuchsia and Fuchsia AB crystals on them 🙂 This colour combination doesn’t exist yet so I am having so much fun doing it! I will post photos soon.

Nice work lorna! You’ve given them new life and they look gorgeous! xx
Thank you Apryl 😀
Hey lorna!! I love this idea! Your shoes look great! I was wondering where you went to buy the glue & glitter, and if you painted the whole shoe at once or did part by part. Thanks for thw tip!!
Hi 🙂 I bought the glue and the glitter on ebay 🙂 You can find it pretty cheap there! I did it part by part so the glue didn’t dry out too quickly. Thank you for the compliment!
hey lorna,
did you put a coating over your shoes after glittering them?? im finding that the glitter comes off a little after i touch them, so I’m wondering what I should use to solve the problem. thanks for the DIY btw 🙂
I haven’t put anything over them yet. I’m figuring out what might be good but I think the glitter would lose it’s shine. Over time though I think it will stop falling off, I think it’s just the excess glitter that didn’t stick on 🙂
Have you painted the bottom of a heel before. I’m thinking of painting the bottom of my Steve Maddens I just bought buy not sure of what kind of paint to buy. The heel originally came with a bubble gum pink on the bottom but when i went to buy them the new shipment was sent in with the sole regular beige. I was so dissapointed but figured i could paint them. Do you have any ideas.
Yeah, it’s possible, I haven’t done it myself but I know people who have. You can also take them to a cobbler and he/she can put vibrams on the soles so the colour will stay as the paint will wear off. But you can definitely do it. I would recommend something permanent like nail polish or a permanent paint in the colour you like. Be sure to put painting tape all around the fabric of the shoe though so you don’t get any on the shoe 🙂
