The ombre faux fur gilet with skinny jeans and platforms
I’m super excited as I’m leaving for London tomorrow morning to attend the UK Blog Awards 2015. As you might already know, The Jeans Blog was shortlisted down to the final 10 in the fashion category, so I’m keeping my fingers and toes tightly crossed in the hope that it wins! It would mean a huge amount to me if the judges picked it as the amount of work that has gone into that site is crazy! When you are so passionate about something though, as I am about denim and blogging, it just comes together and becomes a part of life. I’m really looking forward to the awards though as some fashion bloggers that I know online are attending, so it’s going to be nice to meet them.
Getting to my outfit, I wore this look a couple of weeks ago when it was a little more chilly outside. I got this Topshop Faux Fur Ombre Gilet a little while ago and I absolutely love it. I’m not used to wearing so much faux fur at once and I was apprehensive about it as I know it can make you look larger, but that’s why I chose the sleeveless option so I didn’t look bulky. I paired it with a simple long sleeve white top for warmth and chose my Citizens of Humanity Rocket Crop Skinny Jeans in Aura to go with it. I truly am living in these jeans right now, they are one of my favourites for everyday wear! Finally, to maybe give it more of a 70’s feel, I went with my Topshop Slick Platform Heels. Despite them being really high, they are actually really comfortable and easy to walk in. What do you think of this outfit? I would love to know!

Nice look. The 70s retro feel works well and I’m just about old enough to remember a bit of the 70s seeing as I was born in them. LOL The outfit looks so good against all that rich green foliage.

Oh, by the way, this evening I’ve just received the photo frame that I bought via your wish list at the end of last month. (I’d have had it in my hands much, much sooner but I’m just not all that easy for UPS to deliver to during any working day. LOL).
Anyhow, I’m delighted with the frame. It’s absolutely beautiful and it’s every bit as perfect for the photo of my little nephew as I thought it’d be. He looks such a star in it. 🙂

Sadly, pressures of work and private life have lately kept me from leaving comments to the extent I would really like. However, I just feel that I MUST acknowledge this post, and tell you how much I love the way you pose in the first and sixth photo. In my book, this is how an amazing pair of legs like yours should be modelled. Whether or not the first photo was done just for me I don’t know – But I’ll choose to pretend it is, and thank so much for it, Lorna. You know how nuts I am about this pose 😉
Good luck at the awards. I find it refreshing that your ‘Jeans Blog’ is actually being considered. Instead of the award going to a 6 foot tall skinny blonde with an abundance of outfit sponsors, I would love to see your dedication, research, and hard work pay off. It’s a niche site, yes. But it’s an almost fully developed excercise in research and journalism. Some wealthy media group should just buy the darn thing and hire you to continue as its prime force. And it obviously doesn’t harm that the reviews section continues to feature your sexy skin tights curves.
At the risk of repeating myself; I can just say: Lorna, you’re the best !

I’m glad you like this post, I was trying to vary my poses a little bit, make them different. Unfortunately I didn’t win at the awards, but that’s really kind of you to say so. I wouldn’t sell the site to anyone though, it’s precious to me, once someone else owns something, they can kick you out whenever they want to, so if I own it, there’s no problems at all there!
