70’s corduroy skirt with platforms and a trench coat
I’ve been really into 70’s style clothes lately which is actually a blessing as the trend is popular at the moment. I’ve wanted to try a look like this for a while and as it turns out, I really like it. All of these pieces are from Topshop (except for the Ray-Ban Sunglasses) and I purchased them at different times over the course of last month. I would have never given a brown corduroy skirt the time of day before, but my tastes in clothes are changing and I thought pairing it with this cropped top was perfect. This look alone, combined with the Slick platform heels, is extremely retro, so to bring it to a current time and make it a little more modern, I threw my trench coat over the top. I think this really helps! But I have shown the look with and without it, so you can see what you think!
On another note, I hope you are having a lovely weekend. In a few weeks time I’m going to be attending a wedding in Birmingham with Adam as one of his friends is getting married, so I’m really excited about that! I love weddings! I think I have my outfit sorted out and planned, but you never know, I tend to change my mind quite often. I’ve also got something really exciting to share with you soon! One of my latest purchases from London and those of you who follow me on social media will probably already know about it, but for those of you who don’t, I will be revealing it in a couple of days and it’s gorgeous! I literally can’t wait to show you what I saved up for! Anyway, I would love to hear your thoughts on this 70’s inspired outfit! Please do comment and let me know below!

I really like the rich colour of the skirt. That top is rather nice too. 🙂 It looks like a really cold and windy day though! I hope you didn’t suffer too much. LOL

I love how you paired the trench coat with the 70s theme outfit, a very nice modern twist to something retro.

Great look. It’s interesting to hear your taste in clothes is changing but that’s kinda what fashion is all about. Those are 70’s colours for sure but you’ve given them a refreshing twist, I love it. Those shoes are pretty cool too. I bet with the slight platform they’re easy to walk in.
You look fantastic!
Author
They are actually pretty comfortable to walk in! They get sore after a while, as all heels do, but they are much nicer than a lot! Thank you!
They’re pretty vintage or retro looking and not something I’ve really seen that often so I guess that’s why they caught my attention. I get what your saying about the comfort of heels, I’ll stick with my ballet flats.

Ha ha, good idea! I can’t say I blame you!

Love your outfit I’m thinking of ordering the skirt so can I ask what size you bought? Is it the same size as your denim version also
Author
Hi, the corduroy one runs differently, I got a 26W in this one and in the denim one I got a 28W. I hope that helps!
What size are you wearing?? I’ve been eating to get this skirt but now sure on the sizing. I follow you and we wear the same size jeans so I’m thinking we would wear the same size in this as well 🙂

I took size 8 in it, it ran bigger than the denim one, so size UK 8 was the best option. Good luck!
