Rebecca Minkoff Mini MAB Leather Backpack
I wanted to do a review on my Rebecca Minkoff Mini MAB Backpack in White as it’s been a bag that has got me through so much lately! Since I left school many, many years ago, I’ve never really worn a backpack since as I had to for such a long part of my childhood, but when I saw how cute this one was, I knew I had to get it. I originally purchased it for my holiday to St. Ives as I needed something that would carry all my essentials, not be too heavy or big and would allow me to be hands free. After searching for a while, this backpack ticked all the boxes for me!
The MAB Backpack comes in two different sizes, a mini version like I have, or the original larger version. I will admit that I was more attracted to the various colours the larger one comes in, but being quite small framed I was aware that the larger size would overwhelm me and probably stick out the sides on me and be visible from the front, which is why I opted for the mini version.
This one actually weighs about 0.54kg, which is heavier than most of my bags, but since it’s not cross body and it’s supported by both my shoulders, I can’t feel it. It’s about 11.5 inches in height, 8.75 inches in length and has a depth of 4.25 inches, so it really does fit everything I need in it. In the main compartment I could fit an umbrella, a toilet roll, my purse, a pack a mac jacket, sun cream, hand gel, snacks, phone charger, phone and more, and then in the front pocket zip compartment, I had my medicine, my phone USB charger, Vaseline and lip balm. There was still some room spare too!
The lining has the iconic Rebecca Minkoff white and black leopard print on it, which is so fun, while the hardware is actually a paler rose type gold. I think it’s beautiful against the white leather as it’s a great contrast. The straps will tighten up a lot so you can wear it flat against your back, or you can wear it slouchier by making them looser. It even has a top handle to carry it or hang it if you want to. Like most Rebecca Minkoff bags, the tassels on the zipper pullers are really quirky too and I love the metal clipper on the front pocket, just like the MAC bags! And for extra security, it has a flap area over the main compartment zip.
I’ve worn this bag so much recently, on day trips and travels, I couldn’t be without it! If you are looking for a backpack, then I definitely recommend this one to you! I’ve got three backpacks. One is an old one that I just take to work and the other two (one of which has lots of hidden pockets) I use when I’m going away anywhere – but I always seem to carry them with my hand rather than wear them on my back. lol 🙂

Ha ha, that’s funny! Is that because you don’t like them on your back?
Yeah, largely because I don’t like the feel of carrying weight that way. It’s more comfortable for me in my hand(s). There’s also a part of me that thinks my belongings might be more vulnerable to opportunist thieves if they’re out of my sight on my back. Especially if I’m listening to my headphones. 🙂

Oh I feel that way too! Which is why I’m careful where I am, if I’m somewhere busy and it doesn’t feel safe, I switch to wearing it on my front! Nobody can get it then without me seeing! 🙂

I was at the Rebecca Minkoff sample sale and they had a few killer backpacks I liked a lot but not in any shades of color that are as versatile as this white bag. Great find!
