Fashionable Light Up LED Shoes From Beam

This has been the most exciting and fun photoshoot that Adam and I have ever done! I just had to say that first before getting on with this post. Usually our shoots are very serious, focusing on getting the perfect shots and angles to showcase the outfit as its best, but this time around, we got to have fun. We even got to play with the different camera settings and do long exposure (I love this) which in short means the shutter stays open for a long period of time while you move around in front of it, creating light trails which you can see in some of my photos, and I got to do different action shots.

I got these light up LED shoes from BEAM a couple of weeks ago and I couldn’t wait to wear them and share them with you! I just know that so many of you will love them. I fell in love with flashing shoes when I saw a girl dancing with them in a video on Instagram that had gone viral, then a week or two later, BEAM contacted me about modelling their shoes and I jumped at the chance. I chose the black pair as I thought they would be more suited to a fashion blogger than the white and silver and they would really show off the lights when it gets dark. I was right with that as when it’s dark and I’m wearing all black like I am here, all you can see is the lights!

So how do these work? That’s what I was intrigued by when I got them as everything is concealed and hidden. The button to turn them on is on the outside of each shoe just under the top eyelet for laces. It’s hidden under the fabric, so you just need to press and with each click it goes through a different colour (red, green, blue, yellow, aqua, purple, white and multicolour flashing) setting, 8 in total. Then the last click will turn them off. The charge lasts for 8 hours and you do it via USB from your laptop and plugging the split cable into each shoe, just behind the clicking mechanism. It’s that simple! The LED lights go around the entire sole of the shoes as you can see in the photos, so these will be amazing for nights out if you are looking for something cool.

One thing that surprised me about these light up LED shoes though was the price. I was honestly expecting them to be over £100, but they are less than £50, coming in black, silver and white and are unisex too. That’s definitely something that I’m pleased about as trends like this will come and go quite quickly and not everyone wants to shell out a lot of money. They are animal friendly too since they are made of faux leather, alongside them being completely awesome in every way! I get so excited when I wear these light up shoes and always stare at my feet. They are going to be perfect for Christmas and I’ve already shared numerous videos on my Snapchat and will be on my Instagram (@LornaRaindrops) very soon! So keep an eye out for that! What do you think of my light up LED shoes?

I have to say, those are pretty sweet kicks !! My question is- do the LED lights constantly change colour on each foot or do you pick the colour they light up as? Totally fun and quirky, I don’t think I’ve owned a pair of light up shoes since the first grade, hahaha! Glad you had a great shoot, looks like fun!
ps- are true to size? All black was a great choice!

They are cool! Sorry if what I wrote was confusing, each click changes them to another colour which stays that colour until you click again, otherwise there’s a setting for them to flash multicolour! They run a size small too, so go with the bigger size!

Lorna this definitely looks like a fun shoot… and you’re right that’s a decent price for sneakers… especially when they are so unique but definitely a fun item to wear xox ♡

This was such good fun to look through. I can certainly tell that this was a lot of fun. 🙂 I’m feeling really yucky with a horrible cold from hell – and reading this entry has given me my first big smiles of the day. 😀 I especially love that sideways on photo of you in the air. 😀

Great shoes! Obviously I like the green and the purple settings the best but all of the colours are so vibrant and lively. Did you take any shots with both shoes on the same colour setting?

No I didn’t actually, I didn’t think of doing anything uniform like that as I wanted to show all the colours off and like to have two at once, ha ha! I can Instagram you a photo of your preference if you want 🙂 Sorry you feel ill, it finally got you then! It’s unfortunate!

        March 15, 2016 / 5:11 pm

Thank you. 🙂 Yes, it would be good to see them both with the same lights on – I don’t mind which colour lights. I’m just curious about how they look when both are on the same setting as that would be my mostly likely choice if I had something like that. 🙂

Oh this cold didn’t merely get me. It waited around to ambush me! Most of my colleagues had it the week I was off work on holiday… so then when I returned to work it was just a matter of walking in through the door to catch it. :/

That is very unfortunate 🙁 I hope it goes soon as there’s s much going around. And ok! When I wear them next I will show you, on green or purple 🙂

Thank you. 🙂 I’ll look forward to seeing that. Another question, if you don’t mind? You might not know the answer to this but I’ll ask anyway. When you use the multi-colour flashing setting is it easily possible to get both shoes to cycle in synch or is it just random (or even just too awkward to achieve)? There’s a part of my brain that rather likes symmetry. LOL 😀

Oh, it’s such a horribly persistent cold. Some people I know had it first time around a couple of weeks ago, recovered for a week, and have now re-caught it again. :O

Yeah that’s like the flu thing I had, I originally caught in November which turned to the pneumonia, then I caught it again a month ago. Adam had the flu twice in one month too, it’s nasty. It’s effecting everyone differently, but it’s a terrible bug.

I would imagine if you managed to press the buttons at exactly the same time, the flashing would be synchronized, but I haven’t tried it, so when I do, I will let you know! I’ve got little quirks like that about equal numbers of smileys or emojis, if you have noticed. I either reply with the same amount as the commenter to make them even if it’s an even number, or if they sent an odd amount, I will reply with an odd amount too to make it even in total, ha ha.

                I hadn’t noticed… but I’ll be watching your smileys very carefully from now onwards! 😀 😀 😉

Yeah, it’s certainly a terrible bug. The first thing I got told when I arrived at work today was how ill I was looking… which cheered me up no end… LOL

Wow these light-up trainers are incredibly cool! I’ve never seen anything like them. It’s genius how they work. These images are amazing too, and I love the way you’ve highlighted the trainers against a dark background, and included lots of action shots. Those light trails are awesome!
