Hey everyone! I am back from my holiday in St. Ives! It’s weird going back to work today after over a week off, it feels like my inbox has exploded! I always have such a complicated relationship with holidays as I love going on them and enjoying the break, but at the same time, being self employed means I need to do all of my work in advance for the time that I am away, so before we left, I was working like a crazy person! But now it’s always hard to get back into the swing of things. I still have some outfits that we shot before St. Ives though so I am sharing those with you first, before I add my holiday photos, so stay tuned!
This outfit here was a really comfortable and casual look that I wore twice, just with different jewellery. It features this comfortable flannel plaid shirt from H&M, which I styled with my black James Jeans, and finished with my Gucci Princetown Floral Embroidered Loafers. I loved this as a base as black and white can be really effective. Since it’s just more of an errands and casual look, I didn’t have a bag with me, but the first time I wore it I borrowed Adam’s Casio watch, then the second time I wore my BVLGARI LVCEA Watch with two Moonstone rings which are really cute! One is a banded elephant and the other is a pretty moon stone set in a silver band.
When it comes to being a fashion blogger, I often find that I only seem to wear pieces once, or twice, if they are statement items as people get really bored of them in photos if they’re overdone. I’ve started to find this really wasteful though as most of the times we go out, they are to shoot photos, and the times in between are just comfortable and causal looks, so I don’t get to wear my items as much as I would like to. With that in mind, I made a pact back on the 20th May that I wouldn’t be buying anything else clothes related (excluding gifts) and I am pleased to announce that I have stuck to it so far. That’s amazing for me as I am a person who tended to buy things each week, so going 5 weeks without buying any clothes, shoes, accessories, jewellery, bags etc is great! How have you all been?

I can imagine it being pretty hard as a fashion blogger to constantly come up with new outfits for the blog without buying too much new stuff every week. I for one wear the same things over and over again. But I like the loafers a lot, might have to buy something similar despite blogging about other stuff.

I really like your outfit especially the Gucci Princetown Mules, and black jeans including plaid shirt. I hope you can model outfits with my email full of ideas when I finished it.

I did the same! I bought so many in spring and then got so many that I told myself not to buy anything for Summer. So now I didn t buy anything in June. We still have July and August! I really don t want to buy because I have awfull lot and like you say, it s stupid to wear it only once!

Good luck with it! Hopefully you manage to stick to your buying ban!
The loafers are awsome :-*

I am back to blogging activities and catch up from my time off 🙂 so needed 🙂 for a uni project. I loved the loafers, I love embroidered items and so nice that you are back too! The shirt is also great and you look chic and beautiful! And I agree with you, I was recently on holidays and the inbox looks like for someone who left for a year – these days a week looks like a month! I also agree that we do wear things once and that is it, so I liked the no shopping policy. I hope all is well and nice to be here again! Wishing you a nice week! Hugs!

Hi Lorna, I very much relate to the non stop shopping and having to wear statement pieces only once. I wish I could go on a shopping freeze too, even for a month. The sad part is that even if you try to sell like I’ve tried to on Poshmark things hardly sell or they are under priced. The struggle is definitely real.
Welcome back from vacay. I’m looking forward to all the fab pictures. I’m currently on vacation myself and will be gone for almost a month. I tend to stay away from posing for pictures when I’m on vacation so there’ll be no pictures. Places or things maybe or those I post on my Insta stories.
I adore your loafers, they are very cute! Lovely rings too!

This is a very striking set of photos. I love the contrast between the black, white and grey of the outfit and the various different leaf colours in the background. 😀
The outfit itself is so nice, especially the shirt, it’s such a cheerful and relaxed looking outfit.
It’ll be interesting to see how long the pact with yourself lasts? Is it open-ended or do you have a particular date in mind on which it expires (I’m not asking you to say when, of course). 😀
Oh yes, never a great feeling to return from holiday but I’m glad that you had a good time. 😀

It’s funny you asked that, Steven! I already failed now! I ended up going in Joules with my mum as she wanted a shirt, then I saw they had a navy gilet in there for winter in the sale for an amazing price, which I could not pass up! So I kind of broke it, but then I figured with the weight gain etc, none of my other gilets fit me anymore and I need to wear them in the cold weather, so it was more of an essential and need, than a shopping whim, right? Lol! 😀 Then I needed a cap because sunglasses just aren’t cutting it and I keep getting a burnt head! So I got a burgundy one, but again, kind of a necessity? I don’t really have a date in mind to stick to, but I just need to be much more aware and conscious of what I’m doing.
And thank you! I really liked the colours of the trees and leaves in the background too, they pop against the black and white, plus the florals on my loafers match!
You did well while it lasted and only broke it for essential items – so that’s still pretty impressive going, I think. 🙂

Thank you 🙂 Time will only tell, ha ha!

I do shopping bans often, maybe even too often…somehow I lost the habit of (and need for) shopping… I didn’t buy anything last month or this month for that matter- even if I wasn’t on a shopping ban.
This outfit is very cute:)
love those shoes, the embroider on them is so lovely!!!
You look lovely!
have a nice day:)
