The Wrap Coat With Over The Knee Boots Outfit
Another outfit post and another re-styling of something old. Do any of you remember this Buffalo Wrap Coat in Camel? I styled it before – back in 2014 (I can’t believe it was that long ago!) and I chose to wear it with grey over the knee boots and a hat. To bring it more to the current time, I opted for my Ted & Muffy/DUO Empress Black Over The Knee Boots, my James Jeans in Black, a simple Black Oasis Jumper, finished off with my Celine Nano Luggage in Dune. I thought the location of The Royal Crescent would be ideal for this though as it’s got a great atmosphere.
This is the outfit that I wore last Saturday actually as I thought I was well enough to go out, but I later regretted that as I ended up exhausting myself from the walking and needing to use my inhaler because my chest was tight from the left over flu still remaining. It was also freezing, but as I kept sweating I was having issues regulating my temperature. I was fed up of being stuck in though and felt like I really wanted to go get some lunch and shoot outfit photos, so that’s what we did. I have edited out my cold sore though as I always get one after a virus, ha ha.
Funnily enough because I had still kept this wrap coat in its box from the first time I wore it, I had actually forgotten about it. I’ve been looking through older photos on my fashion blog lately to see what other pieces I would like to re-style and wear in a different way, which was when I saw my previous photoshoot with this one and knew I wanted to give it another go. I’m unsure as to which look I like the most though as the previous one is quite statement making and from a different point of my life when I was a lot thinner, whereas this one is more classic and wearable, from my current point in life where I have some more curve. It’s a tough call – which look do you like more? As always, comment and let me know what you think! Lorna xx.
What I Was Wearing:
Coat – Buffalo (similar)
Jumper – Oasis (similar)
Jeans – James Jeans
Bag – Celine
Boots – Ted & Muffy (similar)

Love the outfit Lorna, camel and black is always such a beautiful combination!
The flu has been going around terribly this year, I’m sorry to hear that you caught it and I hope that you’re feeling better. I know I caught a bad one before Christmas and continued to cough for four weeks after. The worst.
Just thought I’d let you know incase you were interested- Talk To My Shoes blog is back up and running and I’ll be adding content again on a regular basis. I know you’re extremely busy but if you were ever interested in coming by or have a moment to spare, it is there for reading.

I liked the way you style it back in 2014, Lorna! But I love it now, with the over the knee boots and a black outfit! Classy and gorgeous! I like wrap coats very much, they are beautiful and practical! Sorry about Saturday… I guess the cold didn’t help and you felt tired 🙁 I know you told once that you build up energy to spend some day and then people see you walking and think “she is not that tired”. But then you had to stock energy for a week. I hope you do this now, and that on Saturday you are able to go somewhere! Hope you have a nice weekend, Lorna, hugs!

Thank you, Denise 🙂 Yeah, that’s exactly what I have to do, I’m glad you remembered. I have to stay in the majority of the week and not exert myself so that I can do out on the weekend in the day. I wouldn’t be able to manage multiple days in a row with no break, but it’s all about managing what I can do. Glad you liked the outfit!
You look absolutely gorgeous Lorna, I love the wrap dress and your boots are gorgeous <3

Hi Lorna! I finally made it to your blog! Sorry it took awhile as I am struggling a bit to keep with this blogging and social media stuff. Instagram is truly a butt kicker as in time spent on it. Bleh… But I am here and I want to say I love this coat. The color is warm and rich which is just beautiful and it also looks very cozy which is perfect for the colder than usual weather. Your Celine Nano is just TDF…the size is right up my alley and the aesthetic is spot on classy. I am sorry to hear about your slow recovery from Flu but I am happy you were able to get out. I do hope you are feeling a lot better and wishing you a very happy Tuesday!

Thanks Maureen! Really glad you liked it! Yeah, blogging and social media is a 24/7 job for sure! It requires so much work and strategy and planning, and of course dedication. Good luck with it!
I can’t stop staring at the coat. It’s absolutely beautiful!! The design and color, so pretty.

Both looks are equally new to me as I hadn’t discovered your blog yet at the time of the first outing for this coat. 🙂
Both of these styles certainly have their merits but I have a clear preference for this newer option with the black. Firstly because I think that the colour of the coat is very nicely complimented by the black of the boots and the jeans. Secondly because, maybe, in the first outfit the hat is drawing a lot of attention away from the coat – or, at least, competing with it on equal terms. Having said that though, the first look is fun and quirky. I’m not sure if I’m getting a 1930s American gangster vibe or a cold war British spy vibe though… maybe a bit of both. 😀
Author
Ha ha, I like how you picked up on the concepts of the 1930’s there! I will go with the spy, sounds more fun! 😀 I couldn’t decide as I liked both equally, but it’s good to know you prefer the newer outfit as it’s a step in the right direction for where my style is going 🙂
Though, on the other hand, a spy would choose a less noticeable hat maybe. 😉
Yes, it’s a very striking look with the black. 🙂

Ha ha, that is very true!
Such an amazing look! Love the wrap coat and the way you style it with black OTK boots! I also made a post about wrap coats, check it: http://stylefavourite.com/2018-wrap-coats-to-keep-you-trendy/ Hope these ideas will inspire you.
