Raindrops of Sapphire Christmas Gift Guide

Since I am seeing so much Holiday content everywhere online, I thought I would keep my Christmas Gift Guide this year to a minimum so you don’t get bored or sick of it. Last year I did a combination of my own, Adam’s, and my mum’s present ideas, but this year I am just going to combine a few things, with a complete mixture of prices, for both men and women, in one gift guide so there’s something for everyone. I’m usually all about unisex items, but I have colour coded the men’s pieces in blue, and the women’s in red, so you know what’s what, but obviously if you think any of these suit the other gender, by all means, go for it! I’ve not chosen any clothing this year and have pretty much gone for accessories mostly, as well as decor items and stationary, so you don’t really have any worries about fit here, which I know can always be a scary point, especially when it’s a gift!

So, for the men in your life, and since socks are always a common practice at Christmas, I’ve included a gift box from the London Sock Company and I think it’s amazing. If you don’t mind splurging, these snazzy socks could be cool! At number 2 is a device that I find so intriguing, it’s a little stopper you stick to the back of your phone so you can hold it without dropping it, it’s on Topshop, but it will work for anyone as it’s galaxy print. Number 3 is a matte lipstick from Bare Minerals and it’s one I wear all the time. The shade I use is Juju and I swear by it! If you know a guy who often writes, this matte black pen might be a chic gesture. Number 5 is a cute moon necklace, it needs no explanation, and number 6 is a cool bookshelf style Scrabble game! There’s a whole series of games disguised as books, so you don’t have to clutter your bookshelf! I think that’s so cool!

Moving onto the next row, I’m always fond of a bobble hat at Christmas, and what’s more festive than red? Then of course earrings always go down a treat, and sterling silver snowflakes are just adorable – I’m lusting after those myself! A cute little hair tie, which is actually more mature and sophisticated, is always a good stocking filler in my opinion. If you know someone who loves make-up, a nude palette can often be the perfect gift as these shades suit everyone’s complexion, so you can’t really go wrong. Then there’s the really cute avocado heating pad and cooling mat, which I think are so sweet and more of a fun gift, but also useful at the same time.

The bottom row features an MCM wallet for the guys, but since it’s a really cool design it can work for the ladies too! If you prefer something more feminine, I chose a Lulu Guinness coin purse with a glitter french bulldog on it – how quirky is that? To match, or not, is a sparkly crystal bangle at number 14, and then finally at 15 is a really nice candle. Everyone loves candles at Christmas and the iridescent case that this one is in is super pretty and would make a great ornament.

Finally, as a separate note, you might have the more formal man in your life and getting a tie is often a tradition, so why not check out the Cavani tie sets as they have some amazing paisley, polka dots, and various prints, all for an affordable price as well. I think ties are a great gift if you know the person will get some use out of them, and instead of going for something silly and festive (light up reindeer noses that sing Jingle Bells springs to mind) go for something classic and stylish that they can actually use all year round!

One thing I did want to include though, which isn’t related to the gift guide above as such, is the fact that presents for people at Christmas don’t always have to cost a lot of money. So if you are struggling to buy items this year (there’s no shame in that), or even having issues with the decor, or perhaps you haven’t found anything you like, why not do something home-made? When I was younger, I actually used to make all of my gifts for everyone and I really enjoyed it. I’ve still always made my cards, as I like to keep them personal, and I still do, but decorations and presents can come with a sentimental touch too and often people can prefer them. We all have scissors, paper, pens etc. at home, so you have the base materials, but you can easily pick up some tinsel quite cheap, festive bits for less than 50p, or lace fabrics, garland… and build something yourself! Lace can work well for making DIY table runners and cloths which you can use on Christmas day, and you can even make little DIY snowmen using polystyrene balls and glue… It doesn’t have to cost a fortune and if you’re creative, the world is your oyster! Do you do DIY gifts?

– Let me know what you think of my Christmas gift guide this year! What are some of the gifts you are buying or hoping to receive? Lorna xx.

P.S. – If you like anything here, buying through my links helps keep Raindrops of Sapphire running as the links are affiliated. Thank you so much!

Great gift ideas – that avocado pillow is the cutest! 🙂 I think homemade gifts are a nice idea – my mum bakes a lot of yummy treats as part of our Christmas gift and I look forward to it so much as we get to enjoy them for months, always fun picking a new one to pull out the freezer! 🙂

Hope that you are having a good week! I had a night out with friends last night which was a lot of fun and a much needed break! 🙂

Yes! I think homemade are fun too, and so sentimental and cheap, you can do so much with lace 🙂

I like the idea of gifting socks for men because all the men I know tend to wear their socks well past their prime just because they have them. A fun set makes this a more festive gift than just buying someone a pair of socks. Thanks for sharing.

This is one of my favorite gift guides I’ve seen this year! I love how everything you suggested isn’t too big of a gift but still something someone would love to receive. My favorites are the avocado heating/cooling pad and that french bulldog coin purse. Thank you for the ideas!

All nice things. 🙂 My favourite of your selections is the bobble hat. Strikes me as equally suitable for female or male. 🙂

I have found gift shopping so hard this year. Working evenings means that I tend to sleep in the daytime (even on non work days to maintain a regular pattern) so I don’t have much chance to go shopping. Equally awkward is online shopping because if I am not in for things to be delivered then they get left with neighbours – and the times I am free to collect doesn’t match with the times that people would welcome a knock on the door. LOL

Anyway… I somehow got it all done.

Well done on that! I’m glad you managed to get it all done with those amount of restrictions lol! But yes, that hat would definitely work for anyone!

Thanks for your comments =) I read & reply every one =)
