The Zara Faux Fur Coat With A Cord Skirt And Boots
I hope everyone is well and had a lovely weekend! Monday is here again and it’s a fresh start to the week, and comes with it a bit of a new fresh look on my photos and how I am editing them. We shot this look at Lansdown Crescent and the location is just beautiful! It’s so luxurious and reminds me a lot of the older era that was cobblestones with horse and carts over a century ago here in Bath. With that in mind, I wanted to wear an outfit that was suitable for the location, along the same colour scheme, but of course fashionable at the same time, and this is what I came up with.
I opted to wear my favourite Zara Blush Pink Faux Fur Coat that I got a few months ago. I originally thought it was cream as the photos show that, but it’s a subtle pink in real life and I love it more. I layered it over a Fluffy Brown Jumper, which is also from Zara, as I like these warm, neutral tones together. For the other pieces, I chose this Topshop Cord Skirt in Beige as I rarely wear skirts that often, especially not in corduroy, and this one turned out to be the perfect neutral! Plus, it’s in the sale right now for only £15, so it’s a bargain. I then topped that off with my Gucci GG Belt in Tan, as I think that just pulled it all together in the middle, and finished it off with my Topshop Ella Pointed Ankle Boots. I absolutely love these as they’re such a flattering shape and design, as well as a complementing colour to my skin tone, perfect for so many of the pieces in my wardrobe. These are also on sale right now for such an amazing price – I recommend them!
It’s safe to say that you’re definitely going to be seeing this Zara Faux Fur Coat again on the blog, probably numerous times as well as I’ve worn it so often. It’s truly so flattering to my figure and doesn’t make me look larger than I am, which I know a lot of thicker, furry coats can do. It sold out pretty fast as I picked it up in the sale, in fact it sold out before I’d even received my order in the mail, but if you do come across it online somewhere, it’s a must have! It just runs a little bit small and they didn’t have a medium for me to size up to, but I’m not worried, it’s amazing! Same with the boots, so I think this might be my favourite outfit of the year on my fashion blog so far! I know we’re only in January still, but it’s definitely going to be my favourite for quite some time. I’d love to know your opinion on it though, do you like this faux fur and fluffy look on me? And do you love the boots too? You can shop the exact pieces, as well as similar items, in the scroller below. Lorna xx.

Ha ha, no for sure don’t wear this in sub zero!
Hi beautiful Lorna! Somehow I have the feeling that there is a very hot spring and an even hotter summer ahead of us this year at least regarding your outfits 🙂 This impeccable outfit matches perfectly the background and the photos give off this sweet und unique overall sense of vintage city fashion like from the 70s. I won’t break down my comment into discussing the individual items as I think this could sound like making an anatomic dissection of something that is meant to be whole. Or maybe I’ll slip a bit after all haha. The jumper, the skirt and the boots = WOW! Well done, I like it very much! Have a nice weekend!

Thank you so much, Steven! It’s always so nice when people notice everything else in the photos, especially when it comes to the background and the edit etc. as I got the 70’s vibe from it too, and wanted more of a vintage feel. Glad that paid off! I’d be happy to hear your ideas on the individual pieces! 🙂
You’re welcome! I’ll try but for the record I humbly protest against this mild form of compulsion haha 🙂 as I feel somewhat uncomfortable with all these fashion experts here. But since you’re addressing me like I am an expert too (which I’m most! definitely not) I feel tempted to go a bit more into detail. Ok, now, seriously, I think the skirt and the jumper are pivotal here, something like „a center of gravity“; the skirt colour makes your jumper and boots „more visible“. And why not admit it, it looks so damn sexy on your legs! Or vice versa, I never learned which one is the proper way of saying it 🙂 The belt matches it perfectly in colour and also with these shiny metal letters makes somehow the eyes fixed on the skirt. Anyway, velvet jeans of a similar colour as the skirt would look great as well. The coat „wraps“ perfectly the whole constellation and personally gives me this feeling when you’re sitting cosy and warm by the fireplace and it’s snowing outside.
My opinion is that the 70s fashion feeling stems mainly from the skirt and the boots and your facial expression, but also from the background with its mild colours and that you are in this „walking“ motion. This whole 70s impression is so strong that it completely tricked my mind and I swear that for the first 4-5 sec I thought the vehicles in the fourth picture were some shiny vintage cars with these red-white colours. Looked at it a few times, same result. А very powerful sensation, I even imagined an old French cafe nearby you were heading to with that carefree walk!
By the way, do you think that long boots could be an alternative for this outfit ?
Author
Wow, you definitely got a lot from this! And I fully agree with you, the skirt is definitely a very good neutral base, and because it’s central, it does become the focal point for the rest of the pieces to build around, which is why I added the belt in to draw attention and bring that together, it just helped it blend. That’s funny about the vintage cars, I can see that now! Would have been so cool if there was vintage cars there, ha ha. The coat does also help with the wintry feeling and adds another dimension to it, so you pretty much nailed everything. I don’t think being a ‘fashion expert’ has anything to do with it as I don’t have any degrees or anything, it’s just something you have naturally and notice I believe, and you noticed it well. I think long over the knee boots would work very well with this too, absolutely, so perhaps I will do a similar variation in the future, with long boots!
Oh, thank you, Lorna, feels nice to know I am on the same page with a Top 5 fashion blogger. Such a feedback is definitely something that you don’t get every day so I indeed do appreciate it.

I was surprised to read that the Zara coat was pink but I can see it now in the photos. I like how you layered textures. Nice look!

It’s the palest, subtle blush pink really, so it’s not a bright pink or anything, more of a neutral pink! It’s gorgeous though!
I love your neutrals! And I always love your photography, so this post nailed it! Beautiful

Really nice outfit. 🙂 My favourite photo in this set is the penultimate one (the last full body shot) because of how I feel that the shadows are enhancing the look. Your coat is casting an interesting shadow onto your top and skirt. Also your legs and boots are casting shadows onto their counterparts too. It must’ve been the perfect day for photography. 🙂
People talk about faux fur without realising how many Muppets have to die to make it. 😉 LOL Seriously though… it’s a look that suits you really well. 🙂

Thank you very much, Steven 🙂 It was a very good light for photography when we shot these! I’m glad you noticed all the shadows and everything like that 🙂
