Monochrome Brown Layers
Usually I don’t struggle too much when looking for a title for my outfit posts, but this one I did! Eventually I just decided to be literal with it, but I would be very intrigued to hear anyone else’s title ideas that you think would suit this look! Maybe that could be something fun for the Wednesday hump day, you can choose my title and the best one will win!
Anyway, Adam and I shot these photos a few weeks back and I had decided that I wanted to wear a neutral looking, monochrome style outfit, but with various shades of brown and warm tones. I actually really like how it turned out as well as I think the key to getting monochrome right is mixing in different textures from the fabrics, with different lengths and fits, as well as the various shades on a colour palette, so it makes it really interesting and not too uniform. When I look at this, even though it’s all quite similar, it’s extremely different at the same time and I like that. It might be one of my favourite comfy and casual looks I have worn this year so far!
So, what was I wearing? I opted to create a base of my favourite L’AGENCE Margot Jeans in Graphite, paired with my Allsaints roll neck jumper. I then put my Louis Vuitton belt around the jeans to break it up, but keep with the theme. I threw on my thick knitted cardigan from Pretty Little Thing as it was just the right shade of lighter brown, and then went with my Chloe Susanna boots in Beige, finished off with my Celine Nano Luggage in Dune. It’s a whole mix of brown and beige with black as a base. Without making this post too long, what do you think of my outfit? Lorna xx.

Really like this brown toned, casual look! And the detailing on those boots!

Thank you so much, Amie!
That’s a gorgeous look. Brown was never one of my favourite colours but when it comes to clothes I’ve always gravitated towards it, don’t ask me why. That cardigan looks super cozy and since the temperatures here are dropping this week, I could really use one like yours.

Yeah, that’s how I feel, it’s not a colour I would even consider outside of fashion or interiors, but it works wonderfully with my skin tone! Glad you like it!
Coming up with blog titles can be so hard at times. You look great in brown.

It is really difficult! Especially when you’re on number 1500 or something like that, ha ha.

This is such a cute and cosy casual outfit! I like the brown knits together, that cardi is such a good layering piece! And you already know I love those boots. One day I’d love to own a pair!
No idea for a title sorry, I tend to stick with literal with my post titles too, haha!
Hope your week is going well! 🙂 It’s been such nice, cool weather here, properly like autumn!

Thanks, Mica 😀 I hope one day you get the boots too! I’m lucky as I’ve always managed to get them with quite heavy discounts, I couldn’t pay retail for them! So glad you like the outfit though!
In love with this monochrome look! Those boots and belt are so chic.

Thanks so much, Kathrine!
I agree that monochrome works really well when you mix textures. I think you did it beautifully here and I love the neutral look.

I always love the brown shades even if a total brown is difficult to style. You did it so great, I have to try it 🙂

Lorna, I had these in mind regarding what you might alternatively say 🙂
Enjoy diversity of brown and shades

A title you should come up with:
The one to match the beauty
of my newest casual outfit.
Hopefully you are not having already a vision of a boiling green potion I chant some incantations over ha ha. But at least I think I’ve just expressed my opinion regarding your outfit. I like how you styled the jumper with the knitted cardigan. And I like the stairs 🙂 They fit in the whole picture very nicely.
And thank you for answering my questions in the previous post. The old chair broke and I loved it but my comforting thought is that everything happens for a reason ha ha.

Thank you, Steven! Those are definitely interesting titles, although maybe a bit long for blog purposes, but the first one could work 🙂 I’m glad you like everything though 🙂
This is utterly gorgeous. (I would have expected no less.)

Thank you! You too!
I like this look very much indeed. Those jeans are always a winner in any combination, of course. 🙂 Can they ever go wrong? I doubt it. 🙂
Brown is another of those somewhat underappreciated colours so it’s nice to see it being used so well here.
I can’t think of an alternative title as such but, as it happens, I’ve just finished making a birthday cake for a friend’s birthday party that’s tomorrow… and the colour palette of the cake (which is chocolate) is not hugely dissimilar to that of your outfit. 😀

Oh that sounds good! I hope it’s on your Instagram as I’m going to check, ha ha. Glad you like it though, Steven! I really do like brown jeans and wear them so often! 🙂
It’s not on my Instagram yet but probably will make it there eventually. 🙂
