A Beautiful Baby Blue Dress From Yumi

Happy Friday everyone! I hope you have a fun weekend ahead! For those of you who have been following my trip to Clarks Village posts and watched the stories on my Instagram (see them here) you might remember this gorgeous Light Blue Yumi Dress! It was the first dress that I saw and fell in love with when I was at the shopping outlet, and I couldn’t believe the price as it was knocked down to just £16! They also had a pale pink and a pale yellow, but the baby blue was a shade that caught my eye, and since I don’t wear much blue at all (outside of denim anyway) I was mesmerised by it and knew I would love to style it.

I took a size 10 in this Yumi Dress and it fits perfectly! I love the striped net that it has on the outside, and the separate petticoat underneath, which really adds to the look. I feel like this is the perfect summer dress to wear to a friends wedding or to a garden party, as it’s smart and classic, but also youthful and fun at the same time. Obviously it’s not available online as it’s past season, but I have included a few different blue dresses from Yumi as alternative options for you!

I decided to style this dress with my Gucci Dionysus Bag and a pair of Topshop Wedges that I have had for years, in a complementary shade to give me some height. For the accessories, I chose the Ray-Ban Aviator Sunglasses in Mirrored Blue that I also picked up at Clarks Village in Sunglasses Hut, and then lastly opted for my Swarovski Tinkerbell Necklace. The lenses on these sunglasses are just so pretty, I haven’t seen a blue like that in a long time, which is why Adam and I fell in love with them as soon as we saw them on the shelf! They’re gorgeous!

For those of you wondering about the location, isn’t it stunning? There’s a little village nearby and the houses are mostly cottages and old small buildings, but it’s surrounded by fields, farms and beautiful flowers. This area here is just outside of someone’s cottage and I was attracted to the gorgeous pink flowers that had bloomed as they looked so pretty against the green. I thought having such a pop of pink and green against the blue dress would make the photos stand out even more, and I was right. We had originally shot these photos more out in the open, but the light was too harsh and it just wasn’t right and looked bland, so it’s amazing how much a location impacts the overall look of your photographs. I’m really happy with how these turned out and I love them!

It is hard though to narrow down what’s my favourite as each one has been so different and unique! I genuinely love them all and have enjoyed this collaboration so much! That is a great dress and it’s beautiful on you! I love the way you’ve accessorized it from those great shoes to the bag to the Tinkerbelle necklace and the sunglasses are awesome! And the background scenery is gorgeous – I thought those flowers were artificial they’re so brilliant.

You know I have never owned a Yumi dress but this is inspiring me! It is a lovely shade and fits you like a glove! And the Gucci crossbody is an excellent choice of accessory.

  Oh thank you! Funny enough, it’s how I usually do my make-up, but we shot these in the golden light of sunset, so it’s much more flattering on my skin and you can see it properly, compared to harsh day time light!
