6 Must Have Shoe Styles For Comfort & Looks

When it comes to shoes, there’s nothing I personally love more than a gorgeous, stylish, on trend shoe. I adore heels, I love boots, and I think flats are super cute, but one thing that gets in the way of me rocking an outfit that’s on point from head to toe is comfort. I used to pick shoes for their design (hello Christian Louboutin!) over their comfort, and that’s one mistake that I have learned from. I still have some of the most stunning pairs of 4 inch stiletto heels in my closet that I never wear, purely because they hurt my feet. What I always look for now is comfort plus style, and these are 6 of my favourite shoe styles for that:

Block Heeled Ankle Boots

These are one of my favourite styles of heels to wear because block heels make everything so comfortable! They really distribute the weight and make a secure platform to step onto, so you can easily go up to 3.5 inches in height and not feel it as much. My personal favourite’s are the Loeffler Randall Isla Boots pictured above. They’re super comfortable and they look incredible! I own two colours of these!

Trendy Trainers

Trainers (or sneakers) have become increasingly popular over the last few or so years, and they’re one of the trendiest footwear choices you can make. You can pick block colours like my pair above, or go for neon shades or pink or yellow, or muted pastel tones of lavender and mint. Coloured trainers are having their moment right now and I am obsessed with them! They bring fun, youthful energy to an outfit, while being ultimately comfortable. You can dress even the most classic tailored looks down with trainers and it looks pretty cool! Just make sure they’re a fashionable kind and not a running/sports design.

Kitten Heels

For those of us that love heels, kitten heels are a good choice. They are really feminine and elegant, while actually being comfortable due to the lower heel. Keep in mind that some kitten heels can still hurt the balls of your feet though as they don’t have much padding, so if you plan to do a lot of walking or standing on your feet, but need to dress up and look chic, you might want to consider ballroom dancing shoes. Pictured above, these shoes look just like elegant heels for fashion purposes, but they are designed for dancers, so they move with your feet, are super comfortable, and stay put without slipping. It’s a good way to get your feminine, pretty heel fix with comfort and security.

Flat Over The Knee Boots

Another great footwear choice for the cooler weather is a pair of flat over the knee boots. These are super comfortable as they’re flat to the ground, but they remain really secure on your foot as the whole boot encompasses your feet and legs. I love over the knee boots in winter and autumn, just keep in mind that you want a comfortable pair, so make sure they are soft underfoot and nothing rubs at the heel or calf. You can also get custom calf measurements if your calves are smaller or larger than the standard.

Soft Loafers

Loafers were one of the worst shoes for me, until I found the Gucci Brixton. These are like butter and don’t cause any rubbing or pain at all. They’re the only loafers I will ever recommend as I have really delicate skin on my feet that is prone to blisters. I must have tried out dozens of loafers from other brands and every time they hurt my feet. I know these are expensive, but they are honestly worth the investment. They’re a purchase that I will never regret.

Cool Combat Boots

Luckily combat boots are still stylish and trendy, which is perfect because they can be super comfortable! My specific pair here is by Jimmy Choo and I love them because they have crystals and some pizazz to them, which is fun and stylish, but you can of course wear plain black combat boots and rock them with anything. Platform styles were trending for a moment too (and still are), and those are even more comfortable! Just make sure you don’t buy a pair that’s too stiff.
