Lace crop top and skirt with a lemon clutch
I’m really excited to share these photos with you! I collaborated with Rare London (again) on this post and I actually adore the outfit. I wanted to choose something a little different and step outside of my comfort zone, so I went for this matching lace crop top and skirt combination. Since it’s quite a serious look though, I wanted to add an element of fun which is why I opted for the lemon clutch to go with it. I don’t think this outfit would be complete without some heels though, so I went with my classic Christian Louboutin Pigalle in Black.
I will say that these particular pieces do come up small. I’m usually a size UK 8 in their clothing, but I could barely get the size 8 top on, I was squashed like a pancake, so I had to size up to a 10 and it is still tight, so definitely keep that in mind as there’s not a lot of chest room in the top and it’s not really suitable to wear with a bra either as that shows through. If you don’t mind going underwear-less for a while (don’t worry, it holds you in well!), then this is definitely a look you should try out! I don’t often wear white lace as I’m quite pale, so I find it washes out my complexion quite a bit, but I think this combination with the yellow and black made it look ok.
Speaking of the lemon clutch though, how cute is it? When you open it up it features clear plastic in the sides so your items don’t fall out and it also has a detachable chain. I’ve had so many compliments on it! It even comes in a watermelon print too! To finish my accessories off, I also chose my Swarovski purple and blue crystal ring and the Sleeping Beauty necklace from Swarovski too. I think both pieces just add a touch of elegance to the combination. Overall, I really love how this outfit turned out and I’ve been wanting to share the photos with you for a while but wasn’t ready just yet! What do you think of it? I think you’ve achieved a delicious balance of fun and formal with this outfit. I use the word ‘delicious’ not least because my initial reaction to the outfit was that it put me in mind of lemon sorbet. Not any kind of literal comparison, of course. Just a sideways leap that my mind made. Of course it’s also a very summery look and as it’s been really hot today it’s a great choice of day to post these photos up. 🙂
