Petit Bateau yellow rain coat with jeans and wellies
This is a look that we shot a month or more ago, but I never got around to posting it just yet. When it’s raining and gloomy outside, there’s nothing I love more than brightening up my look with lots of colour to really make me smile. Most people tend to opt for grey and black on rainy days, but I say go bold. It just adds some fun to a miserable day, so that’s what I did with these primary colours!
I wore my new Petit Bateau yellow rain coat which has been an absolute life saver! I was wearing it constantly whenever I went out as it’s so comfortable, has a gorgeous lining, is so bright and it’s completely waterproof, so really, what more could you ask for in a jacket? I took an XS in it, but I think I could have even done an XXS as it does tend to run big, but I think that’s normal for a raincoat since you wear layers underneath. Unlike most rain coats though, since this ones fabric lined, it doesn’t make you sweat!
I paired it with my Citizens of Humanity Rocket Crop jeans in Aura, a simple burgundy tank top and my trusty Hunter Original Tall wellies in Navy Gloss. Hunter Boots are an absolute must have when it’s raining, so pick a pair up when you next get chance! You’ll honestly regret it if you haven’t got a pair. Especially living in England. You already know my Hunter boots collection is now up to 6 pairs, so they are definitely an essential if you don’t want to get wet feet and jeans! I can’t be without mine as I’m sure you have noticed. Anyway, I’d love to know what you think of my outfit! Do comment and tell me!

That’s such a vibrant shade of yellow. These are brilliant photos and the whole outfit is great.
Nice location too. It reminds me of a similar pile of logs that we used to have in our orchard when I was a kid. lol
Yellow was my late grandma’s favourite colour. She said it was because she thought it was the most cheerful colour and when she saw anything yellow she’d say it was like a little bit of sunshine. I reckon that’s true of your jacket – quite a lot of sunshine has gone into making it. You’re glowing. 😀
I don’t have many yellow clothes – clothing manufacturers and retailers don’t seem to think that men want to wear yellow, it seems… Pity… I do like my bright colours. 🙂

I’m not typically a huge raincoat person, but I do love the classic yellow slicker. Especially with that striped lining, it’s pretty darn cute.

These are gloss, most of my collection is gloss as I tend to like them more, but I do have two matte pairs. Glad you like the look!

Hey Lorna! I ended up stumbling upon your blog while I was looking around for reviews and whatnot of Hunter Boots as I was looking to buy my girlfriend a pair as a going away gift before she and I head to different states for college. First off I gotta say its kinda rare you find a blogger this dedicated to what they do so from that stand point I’d have to say I’m pretty impressed. I was planning to buy my girlfriend a pair of glossy black Hunters since she used to have a pair and talks about them a lot. I saw you were interested in finding a yellow pair and I was looking to buy some of those myself instead of the black ones, so I figure I might as well give you the links to some I found. Hey Lorna, was walking past our local Urban Outfitters the other weekend & noticed the raincoat featured in this set in red & seem to remember you mentioning somewhere if anyone had seen any cute red raincoats … or am I going bonkers … if so ignore me but thought I’d give you a heads up anyway & thought here was as good as any place to post seeing as its the same coat. If you actually do want a red coat & end up purchasing one that’s gotta be worth commission of some kind ?
