Mansur Gavriel Bucket Bag With Gucci Loafers

A Mansur Gavriel, Skinny Jeans & Gucci Loafers Outfit

Firstly, I wanted to start out by saying thank you to everyone who checked if I was ok after what happened last night in London, I am, and I want to send out my love and thoughts to any of my readers in London that are going through such a tough time right now. It always devastates and shocks me (see my post here) how things like this can happen in such a civilised world. It’s barbaric. I truly hope all of you are ok, and that you’re safe, but more importantly that you can escape the negativity by coming here and enjoying my blog like normal, with a brand new outfit post for you all.

Adam and I shot these photos a couple of weeks ago when the weather had started warming up. It was really nice to be able to wear a tank top without the jacket and not be freezing cold! Then of course it turned out to boil as the days went on and I couldn’t cope with the intense heat. But, as it turns out since I put this outfit together on the day by just picking pieces I wanted to wear, again, it’s one I really like and love. I find the brown palette is very easy wearing for me and it suits my skin tone and hair colour nicely, so it’s one I often tend to venture towards. So, what was I wearing?

I was wearing my older ALLSAINTS Balfern Leather Jacket in Sahara which I layered over my REISS Fi Silk Top in Gold. These are two of my favourite pieces, one older and one newer, but I love the combination of them together as the silky fabric just brings more polish to a leather jacket. I paired them with my Citizens of Humanity Rocket Crop Jeans in Distressed Fizzle (which you saw here too) and put my beloved Gucci GG Belt in Brown around the middle for an added extra. I am sure you have noticed that I can never get enough of this belt now!

Then for the rest of the accessories, I wore my Gucci Princetown Loafers in Brown (yep, they are new) and my Daniel Wellington Classic Petite St. Mawes Watch. As you know I got the Gucci Princetown Floral Embroidered Loafers before, and I completely fell in love with those so much for their comfort and appeal that I got the brown as well, which are even more versatile. I can’t rate them enough! As I thought all the complementary brown tones and warm hues went really well together, which is why I chose my new Mansur Gavriel Mini Bucket Bag too to round it off.

I’ve always loved Mansur Gavriel for quite a few years actually and never really thought about owning one of their bags, but Matches gave me a £100 off coupon and I couldn’t resist. I got the Mini version in Brown Suede and it’s SO amazing! It’s completely light weight so you don’t feel it and it packs away completely flat too, so it doesn’t take up any space. I love this one as my comfortable, casual bag and you are definitely going to be seeing it a lot more. I’m finally happy to have a nice bucket bag! I wasn’t sure on the size to pick at first as I thought the even smaller one would have been more suited, but this one was perfect. Do let me know if you would like me to do a review on it!

I did want to point out that I noticed a change in my face here compared to my other photos, and I don’t think it was just the different lighting, but I felt like I looked quite pale and tired, which is actually very reminiscent of how I’ve been feeling mentally and physically lately with everything that’s been going on in my stomach. It’s been quite a tough time and I didn’t realise that it was also starting to show in my appearance as well, but I am hoping that will all change in time and things will get better. Anyway, let me know what you think of this outfit and all the pieces that I am wearing. I always love your opinions. Lorna xx.

What I Was Wearing:
Jacket – ALLSAINTS
Top – REISS
Jeans – Citizens of Humanity
Shoes – Gucci
Bag – Mansur Gavriel
Watch – Daniel Wellington
Belt – Gucci

You really look a little tired, I originally thought you had changed your hair color. Sorry to hear that it reflects how you are actually feeling. I do hope it changes soon and I have to agree: Brown really suits you and it is very important to keep up positive and enjoyable things in times of brutal and disgusting attacks like that.

I read in your prior bikini post that you’re not completely happy with your body at present… well I have to say that you look stunning in beachware but this aggressive pseudo “Top Gun” look really made my clock tick…
Wow, Lorna, what a beauty you are!!
I love the colour combination (jacket, bag, belt, etc…) although I would have preferred some sort of boot rather than flat shoes with that look, your hair, the top, and those jeans! OMG… I’m still deciding which side of them suits you better, but I have a feeling you already know my preference 😉

They say life must go on after such an incident – and that’s true. But its hard. Knowing that life can be very fragile in these days, we should celebrate it with more gusto. I liked your timeless fashion style which is an understatement and a fashion statement at the same time. The Gucci Princetown loafers plus the leather-jacket look very distinguished.

There are so many different browns and golds in this outfit and all are really attractive colours and shades. 🙂

I know I don’t usually have much to say about bags but really I think this one is great. It’s easily my favourite of the bags that I’ve seen in your photos. It looks both practical and pretty too. 🙂

      • June 8, 2017 / 11:39 pm

Yes, brown isn’t a colour that I generally favour very strongly (I have very few brown clothes) but this bag is lovely. It’s as much the shape as the colour, I think. 😀 Oh, great jeans too, by the way, I forgot to say that in my first comment. 😀

Hi Lorna, I hope you’re well.

Thank you so much for your words of support after the tragedy in London. My heart goes out to everyone who was affected by the attacks. After hearing the news and knowing what people went through, I felt quite scared going out afterwards. It wasn’t too far from my locality. At the same time, race hate crimes have gone up by 500% as people are targeted who had nothing to do with the atrocities. So that’s a double injustice, and another worry for me and other people of colour living in London. But as you said in your post, life must carry on, and so I’m trying not to change my activities too much.

As for the fashion, you look simply lovely as always. This look is very chic and grown-up, and I love the colour palette and the simple sophistication of the pieces, and sharp accessories. The images are stunning, and it’s not necessarily a bad thing when your photos reflect a true emotion you were feeling at the time. I hope you feel better and more rested now. Hopefully things are improving now and will continue to get better.

    Lots of love Saba xx

Gosh, I didn’t realise it was so close to you, Saba. That must have been so scary! It’s really awful why there’s no respect or compassion towards others these days, it truly astounds me. I can’t make sense of it at all.

Glad you like my outfit though, thank you!

Hello. I know this post is old now but I wouls be super intetested in a review of your Manaur bag. Ive been playing with the idea of getting one but it’s a tough one. Am I a bucket bag lady or not?? Also you don’t seem to be wearing it that much? Thanks – Caroline x

Hi! Yeah, I’ve only used it a couple of times actually. Not because I don’t love the bag, but more because I’ve always favoured other bags instead for certain outfits. Come Autumn, I definitely plan on wearing it more! It’s a really nice bag, I definitely recommend it. The laces to open and close it can be annoying sometimes though, but otherwise it’s really cool!

Thanks for your comments =) I read & reply every one =)
