Double Denim With A Christmas Twist

Levi’s Sherpa Denim Jacket With A Christmas Jumper

Can you believe it’s literally just 6 days until Christmas? I can’t. Honestly I think 2017 has been the fastest year for me to date. I don’t know if it’s just because the older I get, the faster it goes, or because I’m living by weekend to weekend and work in the weeks that it just gets ahead of me. Either way though, where did it all go? I’m actually excited for a new year to begin though as 2017 hasn’t been the best for me at all. Even though I know it’s literally just another day like the day before, there’s something inviting and welcoming about 2018 and I’m hoping it’s going to be my year!

Anyway, getting to my outfit, as I know that’s what you all want to see, I thought I would do a Christmas jumper look that was different. Instead of making my usual festive jumper the star of the show, I thought I would go for layering instead and choose items from the men’s department as I’m always for unisex clothing if it looks good! I chose to wear this men’s Threadbare Christmas Reindeer Jumper which I paired with my AG The Farrah Ankle Skinny Jeans in 13 Years Daybreak Destroyed (read my review on them here). I absolutely love these jeans as you know from my previous favourite jeans round up! I then layered on my men’s Levi’s Sherpa Trucker Denim Jacket and finished it off with my Sam Edelman Blake Boots.

Double denim is something that I gravitate towards as a look all the time – for obvious reasons. I’d always wanted a Levi’s denim jacket with sherpa lining for years, but I could never find a vintage one that fitted as they were all too large. This is the men’s version in size XS (I got it a few months ago) and I love the oversize fit it has to it, without being too baggy. Plus, the wash is stunning isn’t it? Getting to the jumper though, I thought a sweatshirt version would be ideal and the rainbow reindeer on the front with Christmas lights around his antlers is so pretty! I couldn’t pass it up when it was in the sale back in October! It’s a size XS as well and has a really comfortable fit (there’s other Christmas jumper options here if this one isn’t your thing).

I consider this to be a casual outfit that I would actually wear a lot, often with trainers or flat boots, but spicing up masculine pieces with heels is always a winner! It lengthens the legs and balances out the proportions. I wasn’t sure at first if everything went as I felt it was all quite a mish mash of items, but I grew quite fond of being comfortable and wearing something completely different to what I usually opt for at this time of year. Plus, it’s freezing so layering up like this is key! What do you think of my outfit? I’d love to know in the comments below. Lorna xx.

What I Was Wearing:
Jacket – Levi’s
Jeans – AG Jeans
Jumper – Threadbare
Boots – Sam Edelman (similar by Alexander Wang)

Oh that jacket looks so cosy! Such a great way to do double denim in winter 🙂 I really should try double denim more, I tend to avoid it too often which is a shame! As you’ve shown here it’s a great choice!

Hope you are having a great week! I’m enjoying the busy week before Christmas, after we had a relaxing weekend with some beach time on Sunday!

I agree with you on being 2017 the fastest year! Pff, it’s scary! I like that jacket a lot. I want a 501 jeans and there is a Levis store here in the neighbourhood. Yeah!

This is one of the most tasteful Christmas jumpers I’ve ever seen. It’s bright and cheerful but without relying too heavily upon the traditional Christmas colours that might limit the times it can be worn. Blue, purple and yellow… not the usual colours of the festive season but such a great idea of whoever designed the jumper. 😀 This would work so well throughout all of the colder months, I think. 🙂

Double denim is always a winning look, I think, and this is certainly no exception. There’s such a nice contrast and balance between those two denim pieces. The jeans are such a gorgeous shade and the jacket looks so warm – I wouldn’t mind having one like that myself. 😀

That’s what I thought when I saw it, it’s festive and cool, but subtle at the same time! 😀 Made me love it! And I definitely recommend the Levi’s jacket. Did you read mine and Adam’s review of it on The Jeans Blog? It’s worth it!

No, not seen that. I will make sure I do so though. 👍

I also love double denim, Lorna, and I wear it on casual “days” a lot – I always, always leave home with a denim jacket, so I loved this one! It’s cosy and very beautiful and I loved your jumper and boots as well, not to mention the jeans! You look always very beautiful! You are right, the year ran – I had a different idea till July, and then… it has just flown. I am sorry it was not the best year for you, but you are right, 2018 will be your year! Wishing you a very lovely Christmas time and a much better new year – lots of love, health, prosperity, many new jeans! Hugs!

Love this outfit! It looks super chic, which is amazing for double denim. Love the way it looks so sleek with skinny denim and those boots.

I hope you start to feel better somehow and your health issues miraculously sort themselves out through time, healthy eating and good habits (which honestly the latter two you seem to already do so i guess it’s just the time bit that needs sorting…)

    Merry almost Christmas!

Lorna I adore the multi-coloured reindeer on your sweatshirt! It’s such a lovely image, and the colours are stunning! It really works well as a unisex item. The denim jacket looks fabulous as well, and the fit is amazing. What a great find! I love the way you’ve styled this look. Although it’s a casual outfit, it still has a chic feel to it and is ultra-stylish. Hopefully you could walk around freely in an outfit like this, and not feel constrained as you go about your daily business!

    Lots of love Saba xx

This is such a cute casual outfit dear, and I absolutely love that dear print on your shirt. Such a pretty geometric print.
