Back To The End Of Summer Outfit

Skinny Jeans And A Simple Roll Neck Jumper

Can you believe it’s almost February? I’m losing track of how fast everything is literally going, especially when I shot a lot of outfit photos in advance to prepare for the awful winter I was expecting us to have here in the UK. I’m glad I did as I’ve had one outfit in particular planned for about 3-4 weeks and haven’t been able to wear it at all due to the rain, freezing temperatures and wind. It’s made photoshoots increasingly difficult! I have one here that we shot around the end of summer/early autumn though and I’m finally sharing it with you as I prepare for the warmer weather. I know I said I didn’t like summer because it gets too hot, but at the moment I am grateful for any amount of heat that we might get anytime soon – please! Ha ha.

For this outfit I chose to wear my AG The Farrah Ankle Skinny Jeans in 13 Years Daybreak Destroyed (you’ve seen them before here and they’re on sale!) and styled them with my Topshop Roll Neck Top (seen here and here). This was a combination that I actually threw together after I’d worn the tapestry dress in a previous shoot, and I liked how it looked! I finished it off with my Jimmy Choo Melba Booties and my Mulberry Lily Bag in Oak. Again, all of these items are pieces I have worn numerous times and the jeans and top are two of my favourites in my closet, so I’m sticking to my re-wearing rule quite nicely at the moment, with more to come as well.

On a more personal note, I’ve been feeling quite overwhelmed with everything lately and my anxiety has been taking hold the past few weeks. No matter how much I try to stay calm and not worry about anything, I can’t. I’ve always been a worrier since I can remember and any little thing can set me off. I’ve been trying to do things to relax and my strategy has always been to create a plan of action to eliminate the initial problem, but there’s quite a few things I struggle with as I can’t change them, or I want to change them and struggle to get around those old habits in my head. There’s always fear in anything I want to do. It’s a constant battle and I’m glad I have my blog to help occupy me and stop me from actually having a crisis again like before as that was a really bad place to be in. I wouldn’t usually share something so deep in an outfit post, but those of you out there who are riddled with anxiety and it’s affecting your lives, do you have any coping methods or tips other than breathing, music and distraction? Lorna xx.

What I Was Wearing:
Top – Topshop
Jeans – AG
Boots – Jimmy Choo
Bag – Mulberry

Oh I’m so sorry to hear that Lorna. I’ve had a year of anxiety attacks when I was forced to stop working because of my lungs. I wish there was something I could say to help you, but I can’t. But I feel for you and hope one day you will be able to control it!

Hey Lorna, another great look. Those Melba boots. My goodness! I freaking love them. I have a pair in a dark olive green suede and gold and I am always worried I am going to wear them out because I still wear them non stop. Wish I took a page out of your book and bought a couple pairs while I could. They are still perfect to me.
Sorry to hear that you’re going through a rut. Sending you strength, love and positive energy! You’ll get through it!

I remember the green suede colour, they also had a deep chocolate brown I loved and a burgundy, but I wasn’t able to get either as I couldn’t afford more pairs lol! I’m happy with the tan and black though, but the chocolate brown was stunning! Did you see it?

So sorry to hear about your anxiety, Lorna. Although, I’ve found throwing myself into my blog to help…it can also be the cause of quite a bit of anxiety too! Exercise has been a big help for me. Especially right away in the morning. I tend to wake up feeling very overwhelmed and anxious but going straight to the gym or out for a run gives me a chance to unwind before I get myself too worked up.

But on a brighter note, your outfit is just lovely! I really love those jeans. 🙂

Yeah blogging can be catch twenty two for sure. I wish I could still exercise, but I haven’t been able to for years due to my health problems. I’m currently starting physio for my joints, but it’s just strengthening exercises for now 🙂

I have seen the list of your favorite outfits of 2017, in the images I have seen tha the shape and skin of your legs are perfect, and you have shown the shape of your legs and look of your legs skin with lot of confidence, in some images, I can clearly see the level of conference on your face.

Every thing was there, in your collection, only 3 qtr skinny jeans ( capris jeans ) was a missing thing in you collection.

I think your fans and followers will love it, and I hope, soon we will see you in capris jeans.

You look stunning as always Lorna, and it’s lovely to see your favourite items taken out for a spin! It’s been great seeing the creativity of your outfits, and proves that you can wear your faithful items in entirely different ways, without needing to splash out on something new. I adore your images, and it’s brilliant that you’re sticking to your resolution of deriving more use from your clothes.

What you said about anxiety definitely resonated with me, and I can relate to what you talked about. I’m sorry to hear things have been hard lately. I find that being purposeful and busy is the best way to cope with anxiety. I agree, taking practical steps to sort out the problem is the best way to manage stress. Aside from that, I try not to let myself become a recluse, and force myself to go out and do positive things, and continue talking to others. Through listening to others, I often gain a different perspective and realise that other people also have challenges and obstacles to overcome.

I hope things get better for you soon.

    Lots of love Saba xx

So happy you like the outfit, Saba, and are really enjoying the re-styling of different pieces I have. I’ve actually re-styled my aviator jacket in another way as well, so that will be shared next month! I have another look with my Levi’s shearling denim jacket too coming up soon!

Sorry you have anxiety too, but it sounds like you have a good way of managing it xx.

This is such a cute outfit! It’s simple but still very chic. You look great! I am a bag girl so I must give your bag some love and props! 😂😍 I don’t suffer from “anxiety” per se but lately I have been feeling overwhelmed as well with the daily on-goings but also with blogging. Ha! At least you are able to calm down with it. I am not usually the type to feel so overwhelmed for a long period of time and I have to admit it’s been awhile and it’s adding to my already overwhelmed self. So I decided to focus on my hobbies that I used to get to before I began blogging like reading, scrap booking and setting some time for myself. It’s helping a little bit. I hope you get a bit of rest and relaxation over the weekend.

For me, the anxiety blogging gives me sometimes is much less than the general day to day anxiety I have, so it’s the lesser of the issues lol. I am lucky that I enjoy it though and am able to do it as my career. Thank you so much!

We all experience anxiety at a point in time and it’s good we have something to fall back on, to just take away our mind from it. Thanks for blogging. Nice outfit by the way.

Guuurl, let’s talk! Stress/anxiety has been waking me up at 2am for the last few nights…the year began well but then after one week, well not so much. I’m trying to work through it though…liking the nude/beige elements in your outfit. Have a lovely Sun ( :

Those jeans are absolutely stunning. 🙂 I thought they were great last time too… but, strangely, I didn’t immediately recognise them from before without following your link to the previous time. I think that’s because of how differently you’ve styled them the two times. They look as equally gorgeous with this top as they did with that purple shirt and it’s hard to imagine two tops being much more different to each other yet still pairing up perfectly with the same jeans. I’d be curious to see in future what other items you might style these jeans with too. Anyway, these are great photos, Lorna. 🙂

Oh gosh… on the anxiety issues… if I had any really good advice about dealing with it then I’d be applying it to myself and feeling a good bit better than I do at the moment. Obviously you know what’s happened in my life from our private conversations. I suppose one way I deal with stress is through cooking… which may sound odd but I think it does me good to feel the satisfaction of having created something. My social media activities and my photography (which is linked to the former, I guess) have fallen by the wayside temporarily but my cookery hobby has continued through everything. Anyway, I hope that you feel better soon. If chatting helps you know where I am… frankly, I can sometimes be of more use to other people than I can be to myself. LOL

That’s funny you didn’t recognise them actually, but I can see why as they were styled so differently with a really bright jewel tone outfit and then a neutral based one, where the jeans are not the focal point of either outfit, so might not be recognised. Although to me, being a denim expert and always gravitating towards jeans wherever I am, I always look there first, ha ha. I am looking forward to the different ways in which I can style them in the warmer weather!

Cooking would no doubt give me more anxiety and stress because I can’t cook! I’m the worst at it. It’s terrible. But I understand the distraction and having a hobby that you take pride in, it’s a good feeling! For me though that can easily be ruined by anxiety as negative thoughts and worries can creep into anything I am doing, even sitting in the park relaxing and enjoying the weather can turn really bad and I have to leave. It’s a rough thing.

      • February 1, 2018 / 4:10 am

A couple of years ago I couldn’t cook… or so I thought. 🙂 When I do get back to being regular on Instagram I think my food photos will dominate my account for while as they are pretty much the only photos I’ve taken during the last few weeks. LOL I should probably get a bit more variety built up first…

Anyway, I hope you find the right methods for you to deal with the anxieties. 🙂
