Rachel Simpson Olivia Knot Shoes With A Dress
Happy Monday everyone! I’m sharing an outfit that I absolutely love here, and I couldn’t wait to show you all! We shot these photos in Castle Combe which is just at the start of the Cotswolds. It’s an absolutely gorgeous location, so I love the framing of these photos as much as I love the outfit.
This look is something more elegant and evening appropriate, so it’s absolutely perfect for a formal event or a fancy dinner out with a loved one, or it could even work for graduation if you are celebrating that. The main core of this outfit is these gorgeous shoes from Rachel Simpson. These are her Olivia Black and Gold Knot heels and I actually created this ensemble around the shoes.

Rachel Simpson Olivia Knot Shoes Review
As you can see above, the Rachel Simpson Olivia is a luxurious shoe that combines timeless design with elegant modern style. They are crafted from classic black suede, which is accented with gold leather binding, with a central knot detail, which of course adds a touch of vintage chic. The heel height is a wearable 80mm and they feature a secure ankle strap, making the Olivia perfect for looking elegant but with total comfort and confidence.
I would say that these shoes run true to size. I’m usually a 39.5, and I took these in a 39 as they’re open toed, however I would have suited a size 40 better as they’re quite snug. They’re a wonderful quality too, as you can see from the photos, I think they’re incredibly well made and they just look expensive. They retail for £185, which I think is pretty good for a pair of dressy shoes that will last you a life time. The ankle strap is comfortable too, making them really secure on your feet, while the heel is a great height.
These beautiful shoes are incredibly glamorous and really do dress up your outfit. I think they would even look chic with a pair of cropped black skinny jeans and a blazer, giving them a little bit more edge. I might plan on a look like that when the weather cools down, but read on to find out what I paired these Rachel Simpson shoes with here.
The dress that I opted for is one that I purchased from Abercrombie & Fitch a couple of years ago (I also own it in green) and I thought it was the perfect complement to the Olivia heels. The split at the front adds a little sexiness, while the rest of the dress design is elegant and feminine.
To really accentuate the black and gold vibes, I wore my Saint Laurent Small Kate Bag as a clutch, as I think that really sets it off. Black and gold is one of those killer combinations that you can never go wrong with as it’s so striking.
To add a pop of colour to the outfit, but still keep it classic and fancy, I wore my Oasis Burgundy Duster Coat that I’ve had for years. I think I bought this in 2018! I’m all about re-wearing my pieces and buying ones that I know I will have for a long time, and this coat has stood the test of time.
Burgundy can be a tricky colour to get right, especially if it’s leaning on the brown side. I much prefer the rich redish/purple undertones, like this duster coat, as I think it’s elegant, classy and it looks more expensive. It really adds such a pretty pop to this black and gold outfit.
I don’t know if you also spotted that I got my hair dyed much blonder than I usually go for! I wanted to really lighten it up for the summertime, and I love how it turned out. It’s really multi-tonal. Anyway, please do let me know what you think of this outfit, especially the Rachel Simpson Olivia heels! Aren’t they just absolutely gorgeous? I can’t wait for her new boot collection in the autumn too! I recommend checking out her collection as she herself is absolutely lovely, just like the shoes.
*Thanks to Rachel Simpson for this wonderful and carefully selected collaboration.

The shoes are gorgeous, they give me a 1920s feel. Very elegant black and gold outfit with a fabulous splash of colour from the coat. Lets the shoes shine. It certainly is a gorgeous location, hopefully not the only outfit you shot there. Cool to use shoes as the starting point for an outfit, is that something you do often?

Thank you! It really depends on if I am collaborating with someone on a specific piece to style! I style around the item. I will regularly plan an outfit around shoes or bags though!
Ok, I guess it depends on which piece is the star of the outfit, the shoes this time. You do love shoes and bags, so I’m not surprised you often start with them then!
OMG, you are looking so overmagic hot beauty…..these shoes are f….ing sexy.
But only if you wear these.
Kisses Gert
I love the style of these pretty shoes, perfectly combined with this excessively feminine slit dress. You look so beautiful dressed like this Lorna. It is so hard to take my eyes off you, your gorgeous legs and your perfect feet are so ideally apparent. Of course I am a hugh fan! And I am also convinced that a pair of cropped skinny jeans would have been just absolutely fascinating!
