How I Wear Double Denim
Unless you’re new to my blog (if you are, welcome!) then I am sure you know just how much I love and am obsessed with denim. If you didn’t know that I run a denim focused website, I do, it’s called The Jeans Blog, so it’s something that’s true to my heart. I pretty much wear jeans in every outfit unless it’s boiling hot in the summer, but a combination I adore to wear is double denim. I often wear two or three pieces of denim at once, but my favourite way to do it is with blue and grey as the colour palette. I always like to do two different shades as I think it’s the best. I’m open to dark and light blue together, but there’s something about grey and light blue that I can’t get enough of.
If any of you remember an outfit I wore back in 2010 (click here) then you will see what I mean (I can’t believe I just linked to those embarrassing photos, ha ha) as it’s somewhat a uniform for me now. Last year I chose to wear something similar as well, but with a sleeveless shirt (click here), so I thought I would do a more Autumnal approach with this double denim outfit.
For this outfit, I chose to wear my GRLFRND Daria Oversized Denim Jacket with Embroidery (you saw it before here) and style it with my Topshop Skinny Jeans in Grey. I chose a simple beige marl tank top and then matched that to my Adidas Campus Trainers which I got around my birthday last month. Aren’t they goreous? Adam and I saw them in Urban Outfitters at the end of July and fell in love with them, and since they had sent me a 20% off code for my birthday, we scooped them up so we have matching trainers (again!), but I think they just complete the outfit here and keep it casual, but styled.
The reason I had chosen something simple like this was because I had my first physiotherapy session for my joints before we took the photos, so I needed something easy to change into. That’s going really well and so far I’ve had 2 sessions, and I have some at home exercises to do. It’s hard, and my muscles aren’t used to it, but I can feel myself getting stronger and I am just hoping it’s going to stop the dislocations and subluxing all the time, to stop the pain. The main thing I need to sort out is my neck and shoulders because of the migraines and pain there, but also my hips so that I can walk better. So hopefully it all starts working well and things improve, we will see! Anyway, please do let me know what you think of the outfit! Do you like double denim? Lorna xx.

Jeans – Topshop
Shoes – Adidas
Such a cute and casual way to do double denim! I like to do the same when I wear a denim jacket with jeans and keep the denim colours really different. I love the detail on the back of your jacket too!
Nice to hear physio is going to be helpful to you and you’re starting to notice the difference 🙂
Hope you are having a wonderful weekend so far 🙂

I am glad the therapy is helping Lorna. I hope it eases your joint pains and eventually go away. I love denim on denim. It’s such an easy outfit and like you, I wear jeans almost every day. I find that it fits my lifestyle very well and such an easy piece to grab for. I hope you had a great weekend and happy Monday!

Double denim is so amazing, yet so difficult to combine!
But you styled it perfectly and I love the tiger-patch on your back.
So lovely my dear.

Such a great way to wear double denim! The combination of these grey skinny jeans and an oversize denim jacket works like a charm. I like the neutral cold palette colour scheme in this one. You look fantastic.
Physical therapy sounds good, it’s great that it might be helping. I hope it helps even more…If it eases the symptoms even a bit, it’s definitely worth the time.

I certainly like double denim (or, indeed, any other multiple of denim). I think your choice of the blue and grey together is a terrific one. Actually, the last time I wore double denim myself I went with blue and grey too though my grey jeans are darker and my blue jacket is darker too.
I like how you have chosen a plain too that allows both pieces of denim to really jump out as undisputed joint stars of the outfit. 🙂 I especially like this jacket which, I admit, I had forgotten had appeared before and I had certainly forgotten what is on the back of it. So cool.
I also enjoyed following the link to your 2010 outfit. That’s so cute though very much of a different time to now… not that 8 years is an eternity of course. LOL

So glad you like it 😀 I think blue and grey is the perfect option too. I like the simplicity it gives. Can’t believe I willingly gave that link to 2010 lol! Surprisingly, those were some of my favourite shots from back then!
Funny how quickly tastes and styles can change isn’t it… Mind you, I still have a few clothes from that long ago that I still wear. 🙂

It is definitely crazy 🙂
