I know that I’ve been quite quiet on the blog scene and social media scene, and I did explain to you in a past post that I’m going through a lot at the moment, which is still true. I’m getting there slowly though, but I’m sure a lot of you can relate, and it’s tough, when your mind and head space are completely fried. That’s the reason I have been finding it hard to sit and write to you all, because I can’t even navigate my own thoughts and feelings on a day to day basis, let alone write them down constructively, which is why I just decided to start typing, and see what happens.
All I know at the moment is that I really want to travel to the United States. I want to visit a few states there and experience so much of America that I have been dreaming to do my whole life. Of course I am nervous of flying, but I want to be able to just get on the plane and do it. I decided that I can’t really just sit at home all the time and do nothing, now is about travelling and experiencing culture, which I am excited to do. There’s a new chapter in my life that’s about to begin and I’m both nervous and excited for it to begin, but getting used to my current situation is definitely a shock to my system.
How are you all coping right now with the lock down and the virus? For us, we’re still in lock down for a while and I’m just coping by talking to friends online and visiting the park when I can. Lorna xx.

Hi Lorna, I have no doubt that you will visit the States soon, until then be well. 🙏🏻☺️

Thank you, John!
It’s quite hard to know how I’m coping as the crisis has made me recalibrate the scales for measuring coping. Some days just getting out of bed when there’s nothing worthwhile to do feels like an achievement.
I hope you’ll eventually be able to fulfil all of your travel dreams. In my opinion the worst thing about flying is the boredom rather than any danger. 😉
Author
Thank you so much, Steven 🙂 I have no fears of the danger, just fears of my health and how it reacts to flying lol.
If America is a a dream and passion Lorna follow it. Life goes so quickly by and before you realize, it’s over half gone and your hopes and dream end up just a thought. This life is yours to live how ever you desire, I wish you all the luck in the world ❤️❤️❤️❤️

Glad you’re doing ok, Amy!
What is it about America that interest you? I’m always a bit fascinated by the appeal it has for foreign visitors. I’ve lived in the States all my life and have become so accustomed to its offerings that I don’t fully appreciate its wonders. It truly is one of the greatest countries in the world, not because it is so much better than other countries (in spite of what a lot of arrogant Americans think) but because it possesses so many different possibilities.

Yeah, I think it’s the fact that it’s so vast and there’s so much to see in every state, and so many amazing landmarks. American’s are always much more friendlier than British people, and it just seems culturally so different, despite being similar. Plus, I have a lot of friends in the States! It is like that though, if you live somewhere and are accustom to it, you don’t see the appeal. Where as if you were to come here for a little while, or other countries like Italy or something, you’d like it, but if you live there, it’s normal life to you.
Such a great casual outfit and nice to see a post from you again! I hope that things get easier for you soon, and your dream to travel to the US sounds like a good one! 🙂 My sister actually had a US road trip planned before everything changed, I know she will get to do it again when everything is back to normal! 🙂
Hope you are having a great week 🙂

Hi Lorna, I’m a recent follower of your posts and wanted to say that although I’m not a ‘fashionista’ per se I do enjoy how nicely put together you are and the care and attention you give to your followers. I appreciate that despite the sensitivity of the subject you are so forthcoming regarding your well being and your day to day struggles.
I’m in the States but I’ve visited Bath in the past and absolutely love your city and the countryside around it. Just as you desire the come to the U.S., I have a long held yearning to spend more than a fortnight in your beautiful country. Even in these less than stellar times, I’m sure you will make it across the pond given how much you’ve accomplished thus far. So please, if it all feels a bit much right now (as it does for most of us) then take the time you need to care for yourself so that when you feel like writing again it will be all the more poignant for us. Warm regards -Gerardima

Hi! Thank you so much for that heartfelt comment. I really love reading comments like this as it’s so nice when my readers reach out. So many don’t comment or say anything, which is evident based on the 100s-1000s views per post, but small amount of comments, so I’m genuinely appreciative of your message. Thank you! I’m so glad you love Bath! Isn’t it gorgeous? Where are you based in the US? xx.
Hello again! I’m based in southern New England near the coast which I would recommend if you decide to come over as it’s a short plane ride from Heathrow. There are plenty of fashion destinations for you to explore and I’m sure take back home with you. 😉

That’s cool! I would imagine it’s about 7.5 – 8 hours flight time right? 🙂
That’s about right, yeah. If you fly into Logan Airport in Boston as I recall it was about 7hrs. Many years ago on my first trip over to visit a friend at uni the reverse to Gatwick was very quick at just over 5hrs! A stop in Iceland is always a nice diversion if you have the time?

Oh cool! I think I would prefer a straight through flight, which I’d be coming into JFK for 🙂
So lovely to see you posting again Lorna. I’m sorry to hear things have been hard lately. Sometimes we need to take time out to care for ourselves, in order to come back stronger. It helps to remember that things won’t always be like this.
You express yourself very eloquently and it’s always a pleasure to read a blog post from you. I adore your pictures in the casual outfit. The blurred lights in the background add to the atmosphere.
Lots of love Saba xx

Thank you so much, Saba! I’m really glad you like it! You always leave me such sweet comments xx.
They say that just sitting down and writing out what’s causing stress is one of the most therapeutic things you can do. Write it down and walk away from it (symbolic and easier said than done). I’m in the States (Texas) and there is still so much I haven’t seen here (even just in Texas. Did you know that it takes about 10 hours to travel from Dallas, Texas to El Paso, Texas?). But one of the trips I’d love to make would be to the UK. I have so many friends who’ve been (and some who lived half their lives there before coming here) and I’m a little bit jealous when they talk about it. You look darling in your contemplative mood and wintery weather outfit (I’ll wait until summertime to visit maybe) and I hope that things only keep looking better for you. Oh. Don’t come visit while we’re in the midst of this virus.

Oh yeah! I know Texas is one of the biggest states! So I’m not surprised. It’s funny that it takes about a 10 hour drive to almost cross the entire of England! We’re so tiny in comparison! And don’t worry, I can’t travel right now because there’s no commercial flights allowed to the US and also UK people cannot enter the US yet by law. Thank you so much for your comment!
Hi Lorna,
I have been saddened to read your last couple of posts as I realise you have had a ‘bit going on’ during the past year. I truly wish you all the best no matter what path you take.
You are always so kind to your fans, yes, you do have fans. Please be kind to yourself though. I can only dream of some of the stuff that you have achieved. I have some anxiety problems and I am an awe of people that can put themselves out there in the public.
Until we hear from you again, please take care of yourself xx
Kind regards
