A Look Back At My Favourite Outfits Of 2010

As per a reader’s recommendation (Frank) I am doing a blog post that looks back at some of my all time favourite outfits from the year that I started my blog back in 2010! Narrowing this down to just 18 images was incredibly hard, but I didn’t want to make the blog post too long! Raindrops of Sapphire turned 10 on March 10th this year, so it’s absolutely crazy to look back and realise that these photos are 9-10 years old, as it feels like only a few years ago that I started this journey.

One thing that I have noticed is that my personal style has changed a huge amount over the years, as you can see from these photos here, however one thing that remains a constant is my love of jeans. I still live in them and probably always will, ha ha. I tend to prefer the more muted pieces now, when it comes to bags and shoes, and I wear a lot less colour, but I think I’ve really developed my own personal style now and I enjoy having more of a curated selection of pieces that I wear more often. Anyway, take a look at the photos below and let me know if you remember any of them and which are your favourites! Lorna xx.

This was the vest first proper photoshoot that I did for my blog, I remember taking a few different outfits to the Botanical Gardens and shooting about 4 of them. This was my favourite!

A pair of 7 For All Mankind Gummy Denim Leggings were the ones that I wore quite regularly, and I liked wearing accessories with them, and these Topshop wedges were a favourite too!

These boots are the Christian Louboutin Clic Clac that I had fell in love with and wanted for ages. I paired them with this dress and a cropped denim jacket for a different look.

This was one of my favourite sets! I remember putting this look together on a whim and loving how feminine and girly it looked, as it’s cute. I probably wouldn’t wear it now, but I love it.

If you remember that I designed a pair of jeans from scratch, down to the cut, fit and design, these were those! They were Prima Jeans and I loved them so much!

Again, this was another favourite of mine! I still own this roses River Island dress and I loved to pair it with my Christian Louboutin Declic 90 shoes. It was very elegant!

I remember this shot being a spur of the moment one when I was stroking the neighbours cat, as we had planned to do this nautical style outfit, and I liked how candid it was.

Coral was one of my favourite colours and I remember buying this Allsaints cardigan back in 2008 or so, and I loved it! This is an ensemble I’ve always loved since I did it.

Now this one I like because even though I was 21, it was an outfit that was really professional and work appropriate with a blazer and flares. I don’t wear flares now, but I like it!

Again, wearing blazers was a habit of mine, and over the knee boots as I’d finally found a brand that fitted my small calves! I always liked this outfit!

Baggy Levi’s jeans was also a new look for me, and I had this Mango t-shirt with the waistcoat print on it since 2007! This was an outfit I wore regularly!

Now this outfit here was one I used a lot as a profile picture because I loved the Autumn leaves behind it and the combination of leather jackets, waxed jeans and graphic t-shirts!

I went for a country girl theme here with this floral dress, but added on a brown leather jacket and brown shearling style boots to give it an edge. I was fond of this one!

Blazers and skinny jeans were the ultimate favourite look of mine and I liked adding in pops of colour. I don’t actually remember much about this look, but I like it.

The very first designer bag that I got was this Marc Jacobs Bruna bag and I couldn’t wait to style it. I remember wearing it with my Christian Louboutin Declic heels here and my J Brand jeans!

A denim shirt, linen shorts, and my Topshop clogs… An outfit that was incredibly casual and comfortable, but I thought was quite stylish at the same time.

This one wasn’t a favourite outfit as such, but I remember running through the woods in the snow (I love snow!) and it was one of those candid shots that I have very fond memories of.

These were my James Jeans and I wore them with an oversized knit and chunky boots, when I’d just had a fresh new haircut, so I really like this picture! Especially as it has a little snow left!

Thank you, Ian! Really glad you liked the post! I’m not sure what I would pass on actually, everything happens for a reason and life is one huge learning curve and journey, so I don’t know. Just to let myself know that I will be ok, to maybe not take work as seriously as I did, and to make sure communication and openness is of high importance, spending more time with people that are close to me. That’s probably one thing, quite deep, but I’ve realised is of importance.

You look adorable in all these early looks Lorna! I really like to see pictures like this. It’s great to see your evolution, both as a fashion blogger, and as a person. You’ve grown up so much!

I love the purple shoes, and the jeans you designed yourself.

    Lots of love Saba xx

Aww, these are all great. 🙂 I love all of the splashes of colour that you inject (in some cases here they are torrents of colour!). I think my favourite of these photos is the one of you running through the snow – for much the same reason that you chose to include it. Of the outfits I’d go for the one with the jeans that you designed – they’re such a perfect fit on you and just gorgeous. Also that must’ve been such a proud moment for you. 🙂

Thank you so much, Steven! Yes, it was a very proud moment of mine to create those jeans! From scratch, even the measurements! I loved it! They no longer fit me though unfortunately. But I’m very happy you liked this post!

Out of curiosity… is there any item in any of these 18 photos that you still wear now? I know a decade is a long time but I still have a few things I wore that long ago that I still wear now. 🙂

The pink floral dress, the brown wedges, and the denim shirt! I would still wear these now 🙂

Thanks for your comments =) I read & reply every one =)
