The Givenchy Chelsea Boots Trend
The chunky Chelsea boots trend has been popular for the last couple of seasons, but it’s still not one that I have jumped on board with. The more I see them, the more I like them, and the sleek boots I have been looking at recently are by Givenchy. I know that Bottega Veneta brought this trend to us, but their boots were really quite heavy and almost clumsy looking, and given the fact that I’m shorter, I prefer more sleek looking footwear, to elongate my legs.
Choosing the right colour boots from the Givenchy selection is near impossible though! I see so many models and bloggers wearing boots like these, and I think they look incredible. Styling a white pair with some light blue skinny jeans, a chunky taupe knit, and a cream coat layered over the top is a gorgeous outfit, especially if you finish it off with a Chanel flap bag in similar neutral tones, but on the other hand, there’s the black ones and they go with black skinny jeans, oversized hoodies, or a black leather jacket and some statement sunglasses. I don’t know what to do! It’s making me think that I need both the white and black pairs as I have two different styles that I like. I love a more feminine, soft, girly approach, but I’m also partial to a rock chick, darker, tougher vibe!
The more I see these types of Chelsea boots though, the more I become obsessed with them! Remember when I first got my Chloe Susanna Boots in that gorgeous Velvet Burgundy? I had been admiring those boots for a good few seasons and couldn’t take it anymore! I ended up falling so hard in love with them that I got another pair in taupe suede too! So don’t be surprised if you see me rocking a pair of the white ones very soon in some of my outfit posts! I’m thinking they would be so versatile, especially when it comes to my skinny jean choices! Light blue, grey, and washed black denim would be perfect choices for the white pair! Then knowing me, because this is what I do, I will end up getting the black pair a couple of months after, and living in those with black skinny jeans and my leather jackets. You can’t go wrong with both right? I just call that smart choices!
If I don’t end up buying the white or black pair above though, I’ve also included a pair that are iconic to Givenchy when it comes to footwear, just above. Do you remember the famous buckled Chelsea boots with the studs that were popular a few years ago? The fashion house still includes them in every seasons offerings because they’re a classic of the brand now! I love that! I think the black suede version are gorgeous as they make such a statement, especially if you wear them with an all black ensemble (much like this outfit here). They are somewhat similar to my Chloe boots that I just mentioned, due to the studs and buckles, and I remember wondering which brand to choose back then, but I never stopped liking this particular pair as they’re so cool! Buckles and studs? Yes please! So as you can see, I have some tricky decisions to make as I feel like I’m due another pair of designers boots really soon!
Are you a fan of these Givenchy Chelsea boots? Or just the chunky boots trend like this in general? I’d love to know what you think in the comments below!
I love all of these boots – you can’t really go wrong with them !I do think you would wear the white ones so well though, those would be my pick! 🙂
Hope you are having a great week! 🙂
I think the white ones are definitely what I would pick!
Good morning Lorna I have to say I don’t like this trend in boots i like a taller boot with a nice line on the leg worn over jeans or with a nice skirt /dress . These look more of a work boot for gardening or a building site . But we all have different tastes . take care Ian
Yeah, these are the ones that are trending now and very popular. I do like taller boots too though, there’s a pair on DUO that I adore and want to get, but they’re a little too pricey!
These are super cute boots.
