How To Dress Up Cargo Pants
The cargo pants trend is increasing in popularity as the weeks go by! It’s very reminiscent of the late 90’s and early 00’s, as I remember wearing them when I was a lot younger. Now we are seeing girls everywhere in cargo pants, whether that’s more of a wide leg or a tapered leg, they’re trending – there’s no escaping them. As I do with all fashion trends, I like to incorporate them in my own way with my own personal style, and that’s what I have done here – I’ve dressed cargo pants up! So, if you want to know how to style cargo pants this season, check out my photos!
For my outfit, I chose a pair of Stradivarius Brown Cargo Pants and I took them in a size UK 12. I’m usually a 10, and although the 10 did fit, they were pretty snug and not as comfortable as I wanted. Brown was a more unique choice for me to go with as the army green shade can feel too common. I also wanted a straight leg, so I could dress them up with boots, so these turned out to be the perfect option! I picked them up on ASOS for around £30. As I’m dressing these up, I chose a gorgeous knit from Bershka. I took a size medium as I needed it to have room at the chest, and not pull, as it only has a one button fasten. It wouldn’t be the kind of top I would usually think to pair with cargo trousers, but it was perfect!
For the rest of the outfit, I wore my Topshop Snake Print Boots as I wanted to have some heel height and a pointed toe, but they have a print on them, which just adds some uniqueness to the look. I finished it off with my Louis Vuitton Mini Palm Springs Backpack, to keep with the brown theme, and a pair of Ray-Ban Aviator Sunglasses. I decided not to wear any jewellery, however some dainty gold pieces would work perfectly with this look.
Dressing cargo pants up is really easy and it makes such a difference compared to the usual sports shoe that most people would opt for. I will absolutely wear these with sneakers/trainers for other looks, dressed down and casual, but it just shows how versatile cargo pants can be if you style them in your own way. I think a cute cropped t-shirt would look fantastic with them too!
So, my takeaway points here for dressing cargo pants up – wear them with pointed toe boots or heels. Wear them with a more formal looking knit. Add a classier bag and accessories. I treated mine just like a pair of jeans or smart trousers, so put an outfit together that would look smart, then trade out the bottoms for the cargo pants and you’re all set! You have a unique dressed up cargo trousers look!
For those of you wondering on the location, we shot these photos down by the river here in Bath, and I love how they turned out with the sun reflecting off of the water. After spending time in the USA and taking photos there, it’s nice to be back home with my classic English locations. Anyway, what do you think of this outfit? Do you like it? Comment and let me know! These cargo pants look great on you and I love the knitted cardi with it – such a retro vibe and you wear it well! 🙂
Hope you are having a great day 🙂
Thank you so much, Mica! So glad you love it!
I really like your outfit because I think you look gorgeous today, and I currently have a Halloween costume idea for you.
What’s the Halloween costume idea?
A tribute to Olivia Newton-John towards the end of the famous 1978 movie Grease, and it’s mostly the black leather bad girl version of Sandy.
Oh, yeah, Sandy is always a popular choice!
I already started on your Halloween costume shopping list.
Ha ha! I actually think I might be going as a cat though, I haven’t fully decided. I already have everything to create a cat look, I don’t think I have everything Sandy inspired.
Not a fan of cargo pants, but they look great on you 🙂
Thank you so much 🙂 Yeah, it’s a trend to get used to, ha ha.
Excellent. So magnificent. Amazing photos 🙂
Thank you 🙂
