The Simple Plaid Boyfriend Shirt & Madewell Kickout Jeans

The Simple Plaid Boyfriend Shirt & Madewell Kickout Jeans

I’m back in jeans! I hadn’t even noticed that I hadn’t really worn jeans for a long time. It wasn’t something that crossed my mind until one of you asked when I would be wearing a pair again. Since we’ve had a lot of warmer weather, I can’t say that I’ve worn any jeans in a good few months. I’ve also been favouring tailored trousers instead at the moment, so jeans have taken a backseat. I know that doesn’t sound right, coming from a denim addict like myself, but stranger things have happened, ha ha.

This pair that I’m wearing here is the Madewell Mid Rise Kick Out Jeans and I am obsessed with them! I actually picked them up over the wintertime in Ohio in the United States. It was my first time ever going in a Madewell store and I came across this pair and fell in love with them right then and there, so I bought them. The mid rise was really flattering for my height, and the back pockets are the magic design that they do, they’re really enhancing on the butt. Not to mention comfortable! This Starkey wash is one of the stretchiest!

In terms of sizing, Madewell tends to run huge, so I actually got these in size 25 and they fit perfectly, and have stretched out a little bit. I’m usually a skinny jeans girl as you know, but the cropped mini bootcut is super cute and I think it looks great with heeled ankle boots too, so you will be seeing a lot more of these in the coming moths for sure! They’re still available to buy as well, so snap them up! Seriously – they’re worth it!

For the rest of the outfit, I decided to wear my trusty American Eagle Boyfriend Plaid Shirt that is super soft! I got this about a year ago in the United States as well, and I’ve worn it so much. It’s one of those easy shirts that you just throw on and I can never get enough of! It pairs really well with the cropped brown tank tops that I’ve been wearing it with, like this one. I have a few varying shades of brown and they all work really well with the tones in this shirt.

I then opted to wear my Abercrombie & Fitch Brown Sandals to finish the outfit off. I wouldn’t usually wear sandals with a cropped bootcut, but as it’s still warm out, I thought it might be a fun take. Of course you can wear brown or black ankle boots with this outfit instead and that will be absolutely perfect to transition into the cooler weather, and I’m planning on doing that very soon!

Now for the accessories, I wore my Saint Laurent Celtic Buckle Belt that I got about a year ago. The colour of the suede is so rich and pretty, combined with the brass buckle, it’s a really unique and fun belt! It adds a lot of depth and dimension to the outfit as it’s quite a focal point and statement on its own. Isn’t it cool? I have a really cute Saint Laurent Thin Cassandre belt that I regularly wear, so this was a nice switch up.

I then wore my Saint Laurent Nano Sac de Jour Bag in Dark Beige. As you know, I got this bag about a year ago in Selfridges in London and I love it! It’s one of the most classy and sleek bags! I regularly wear my grey Nano Sac de Jour and use it all the time, so having a Dark Beige version in smooth leather instead of pebbled made a lot of sense! Isn’t it gorgeous?

And finally, I finished it off with a pair of my Ray-Ban Aviators to add a little chic to the look. It’s a really comfortable and easy outfit overall, which is perfect for the transitional weather changes. What do you think of it? I hope you’re enjoying an abnormally warm October too!
