Luxury Goods That Are Outperforming The Market In 2025
Despite the ongoing economic uncertainty, our appetite for luxury remains strong in, still into 2025. From timeless pieces to luxury investments, our interest continues to shift in intriguing ways, with certain categories standing out for their resilience and rising demand.
Whether driven by investment value, personal expression, or sheer craftsmanship, some luxury products are clearly outperforming the rest. So lets take a closer look at this year’s trends, revealing where buyers are focusing their attention and why these items are resonating more than ever.
Fine Jewellery: A Surging Alternative to Handbags
Once dominated by the likes of iconic handbags and limited-edition accessories, the luxury goods market is witnessing a significant pivot towards fine jewellery. The growing popularity of this stems in part from the sharp rise in handbag prices (this has been ridiculous the last couple of years), particularly from heritage brands like Hermès and Chanel, which has led some consumers to seek better value in high-end jewellery.
Diamond studs, tennis bracelets, and gold chain necklaces have become staples not just for special occasions but for daily wear. Luxury brands such as Cartier, Tiffany & Co., and Bvlgari continue to lead the charge, offering pieces that provide aesthetic beauty with investment potential. According to a 2024 study, jewellery was a standout in the ‘stalled’ luxury market as shoppers started making investment-led purchases. I might need to swap to jewellery myself!
High-End Watches: The Enduring Icons
Luxury watches continue to thrive in 2025, but the most significant shift isn’t just in sales—it’s in who is buying them. Female entrepreneurs are increasingly turning to high-end timepieces as both status symbols and smart investments.
Rolex, with its reputation for craftsmanship, timeless design, and exceptional resale value, has become a clear favourite among successful businesswomen. As women take up more space in leadership roles, they’re also staking their claim in what was once a male-dominated corner of the luxury market. Recent industry reports show that women now account for nearly 35% of luxury watch buyers. I never expected that!
Among Rolex’s line-up, the Lady-Datejust and Oyster Perpetual stand out. Each offers a refined take on traditional Rolex values—precision, longevity, and elegance—tailored to different leadership styles. The Lady-Datejust leans into classic sophistication, while the Oyster Perpetual brings a sleek, modern edge ideal for minimalists. Compared to models like the Rolex Day-Date, which is more of a statement piece, the Datejust strikes a perfect balance between everyday wearability and subtle luxury. This versatility makes it a flexible choice for female entrepreneurs.
Statement Accessories and ‘Loud Luxury’
Boldness is back. After several years of minimalism dominating luxury fashion, a shift towards eye-catching, expressive pieces has taken hold. Accessories are louder, brighter, and designed to be noticed. Think oversized sunglasses, vivid handbags, chunky chains, and designer logos worn with pride.
This renewed appetite for maximalism is being driven by younger luxury consumers, particularly Gen Z and Millennials, who are embracing fashion as a form of self-expression. Brands like Gucci, Balenciaga, and Miu Miu are capitalising on the trend, releasing collections that prioritise individuality and unapologetic flair. These accessories aren’t just finishing touches; they’re the pieces that people notice first. I’ve always loved more minimal and muted colour palettes, but lately I’ve fell in love with colour.
Beauty Goes Premium
Luxury beauty continues to carve out a larger share of the luxury goods market, with consumers placing a premium on quality, formulation, and packaging. Fragrances, skincare, and cosmetics from high-end labels are proving just as desirable as handbags and jewellery. Luxury perfume, in particular, appears to be worth the splurge right now. Buyers are increasingly drawn to high-end scents made with rare ingredients and housed in beautifully designed bottles that double as vanity centrepieces.
Flagship names such as Chanel, Dior, and Hermès are expanding their beauty offerings and Louis Vuitton has recently entered the space with a newly launched beauty line that’s already generating attention. The La Beauté Louis Vuitton launch is the brand’s first entry into makeup, although they have long graced the luxury industry with their vanity cases and toiletry pouches. Coming Autumn 2025, one of the most influential makeup artists, Dame Pat McGrath DBE, will shape the beauty line.
The Rise of Experiential Luxury
While traditional luxury items still hold strong appeal, there’s growing demand for experiences that feel exclusive and personal. In 2025, affluent consumers are placing more value on how they spend their time. Whether it’s private luxury getaways, bespoke travel itineraries, or multi-generational family holidays, the luxury travel industry is growing in popularity.
Millennials are just one group who are seeking unforgettable experiences over material possessions. Social media is also helping to highlight the wonder of many unique travel destinations. As well as travelling for luxury experiences, digital nomadism and sustainable luxury are also fuelling the future outlook for luxury travel. I personally love this as travel is everything to me!
