70’s retro floral co-ord suit with culottes and a crop top
How cool is this co-ord suit? That was my very first thought when I saw this on ASOS a couple of weeks ago. I do have a thing for co-ords as I love the full effect of a printed suit, but this one is definitely taking things to a new level for me! The trousers are almost culotte style or a cropped kick flare and the jacket is sleeveless, all while having a retro 70’s floral vibe to it! It’s definitely very ‘flower power’ in my opinion!
I thought pairing this look with a burgundy crop top would give it that injection of colour that it needed to pop as the white one that I tried ended up looking too bland. I then went with a classic and modern shoe in the form of my Christian Louboutin Pigalle to bring it into this century, rather than some platforms which would really date it. I know this is something very different for me and I’m really enjoying that at the moment! I’d love to know what you think and whether or not you like this outfit! Do you think fashion blogs should be more daring and bold with outfit choices?
My make-up look here and my hairstyle are very similar to the look that I published prior to this one. I just made my eyes a little heavier and darker and opted for a deep pinky red lipstick from Pixi instead of a lip tint, so there was a stronger shade. My hair also has more of a wave to it this time as it’s dried naturally and not straightened like I usually do.
ASOS 70’s Floral Sleeveless Blazer – Here’s a look at the print on this 70’s retro co-ord suit up closer. It definitely reminds me of the 70’s after seeing many photos and films from that decade. I love how much the 70’s clothing is actually coming back in fashion right now, but in a much more modern way. I don’t think I could do the tank tops they wore though, but I’m definitely into looks like this one! The sleeveless jacket works really well as a summer piece, so I’m glad that it doesn’t have sleeves. You can buy this jacket here.
ASOS 70’s Kick Flare Trousers – And here’s a closer look at the kick flare 70’s inspire trousers. They do have a very similar cut to a pair of culottes which are trending incredibly well right now too. I never thought this type of trouser would actually suit me to be honest, but I quite liked how these fitted and looked. The higher waist was great with the longer sleeveless jacket and the length was perfect for wearing heels with. I definitely think that these trousers are really cool! You can buy them online here.

I love love love this look! Love how you mixed the black and white with burgundy and this matching set is different from the usual ones, great styling!

Oh, I’m certainly in favour of you being as daring and bold as you like with your choices. It’s fun to see something radically different from time to time. 😀
I’ll admit (as I would never leave you a dishonest comment) that I wasn’t entirely sold on this outfit just a few moments ago but the look is growing on me as I’m browsing back and forth between the photos. Yeah, I’m liking it much more now. 🙂
Curiously, even allowing for your high heels, this outfit seems to give you more height or the illusion of more height. Especially evident in that longer shot (the 6th one if I’ve counted right?).
Great post anyhow. Keep on surprising us when you feel like it. 😀

Thanks Steven! Yeah, it’s not everyone’s cup of tea. Adam said I looked like a pimp 😀 Ha ha! I think the illusion might be because of the high rise of the trousers, so it appears to lengthen my legs, which is good!
This is a beautiful outfit! You wear it so well. The background of your photos is gorgeous! Great pictures!

That is a daring outfit! So fashionable and bold! I really like how much you are keen on details in your outfits…It reminds me of some kind of a styling puzzle, when every detail matters, otherwise a picture won’t look as a whole piece. You know what I mean? Honestly, you are born to be a stylist! And well…I’m in love with your shoes!
