How To Style A Jumpsuit For Autumn

Autumn is in the air and I’m here with these beautiful pictures in collaboration with Very.co.uk! As you probably know, I’ve done photoshoots with the brand before (see here and here) and they always have the best selection of clothing to choose from, from all various priced brands. There’s so many gorgeous pieces in stock for autumn, and I’m showcasing you this look here with their pieces. I put this whole outfit together, so let me tell you about it!

I was wearing this gorgeous River Island Scuba Wide Leg Jumpsuit in Brown as the main focal piece of this outfit. I love one pieces (give me a playsuit any day of the summer) but I’m not usually a big jumpsuit fan as I didn’t currently own a smart one before this piece, just a casual skinny leg!

As it turns out, I actually adore it! It’s such a good way of classing up an outfit as it’s tailored and chic. There are so many different jumpsuits for women that you can choose from, especially when it comes to long sleeve, short sleeve, flared leg, or skinny etc., you can’t really go wrong! This one is really flattering and I love that it has a plunged neckline and tailored waist, while being stretchy.

I love neutral tones as you know, so I kept the whole outfit within that colour scheme. The coat is my own coat, which I will be sharing with you in another blog post very soon, but all of the accessories here pull the entire outfit together perfectly. It really makes a difference when you style your look instead of just wear it.

The bag that I have here is the COACH Tabby 26 Shoulder Bag and it’s absolutely gorgeous, isn’t it? This is one of those bags that you can swap the straps out and wear it cross-body, and it’s so versatile in white that it not only works for autumn and winter, but it will work perfectly for the warmer seasons too. It’s one of the most transitional bags and really dresses up the jumpsuit.

I then wore a pair of Mint Velvet Imogen Suede Cowboy Boots to give some height to my legs for this outfit, and they’re super stylish! They’re a pointed toe with a block heel, and a harness around the middle (you’ll see more of them in my next post), but heels are important with a wide leg jumpsuit as it elongates the silhouette.

No outfit for autumn would be complete without a hat though, so I opted for the Accessorize Wool Fedora Hat in Brown and I think it tops this look off nicely! A Fedora style hat is ideal for the autumn months as it’s really fashionable and stylish, adding so much more dimension to your entire look. Then finally, I also wore a New Look Check Fray Hem Scarf which is a mixture of brown and grey neutral shades, to tie it all together – you can see this one in a couple of the shots.

Since autumn is my favourite time of the year for fashion, I can’t wait to shoot more pictures in layered looks like this, especially when the leaves are golden. I have another set of photos to share with you soon and it’s featuring one of their denim dresses, which is absolutely stunning! But in the meantime, here are some of my tips on styling a jumpsuit for autumn:

  • Choose a jumpsuit with a wide or flare leg
  • Make sure the leg length is long enough for heels
  • Wear comfortable heeled boots to elongate your legs
  • Choose a jumpsuit with a plunged neckline if you’re busty
  • Choose a jumpsuit with a higher neckline for a fashion look
  • Layer a long complementing colour coat over the top for dimension
  • Accessorize with autumn pieces like a fedora hat, gloves or scarf
  • Go for statement jewellery, like hooped earrings
  • An autumnal colour palette is key – neutral browns or jewel tones are best
  • Try a belt around the waist for an extra statement

So there you have it! How to style a jumpsuit for autumn, and the flowers are optional, ha ha! It’s such a chic look for strolls in the park or a lunch out with friends or family. All of these pieces of clothing are available to buy on Very.co.uk, but let me know if you have any questions regarding sizing or styling!

Because I realised there’s no purpose to it, I used to think it was fashionably helpful, but all it did was create photos for men to stare at and send rude comments, so I stopped. That isn’t the direction I want my content to go down. Thanks!
