My Berlook Sustainable Swimwear Review

Berlook Sustainable & Recycled Swimwear Review

I’m excited to be sharing this collaboration with you as it’s really exciting! Sustainable and recycled clothing is something that I’ve been taking a lot more seriously lately, and I’m always looking at brands to make sure they’re making a conscious effort to be more environmentally friendly. One area that could get overlooked though is swimwear, so I’m excited to introduce BERLOOK to you! They’re a sustainable swimwear brand that has some amazing designs!

As we all know, ocean pollution is getting worse, and plastics are the largest, most harmful and most persistent fraction of marine litter. I couldn’t believe that they account for at least 85 per cent of total marine waste! That’s insane! It makes sense though as plastic does not biodegrade naturally, so it breaks down into smaller and smaller pieces called micro plastics. This means that every piece of plastic ever produced is still existing in some form somewhere in the world. That’s actually shocking. Not only does this severely hurt marine life, it also poses a threat to ecosystems and human health.

This is where BERLOOK come in! They are making recycled swimwear! 1 swimsuit top is made of about 5 plastic bottles! That’s recycling the plastic waste and giving it a new life – I love this! I wish more and more brands would use recycled plastic as a material for their clothing. I think it’s the way forward!

BERLOOK swimwear is made of recycled materials that are certificated Global Recycled Standard, achieving the goal of unified economic and social benefits. Their fabric features softness and stretch, doing no harm to skin and the environment. How cool is that to wear a piece of swimwear made of recycled plastic bottles? You would never know! By buying their swimwear, you’re looking good, feeling good, and helping the ocean. It doesn’t get better than that!

I wanted to share with you 3 different swimsuits that I am modelling here, each from BERLOOK, and it was really hard to narrow them down to a favourite, so I’d love your opinion in the comments! They have so many to choose from, it took me over an hour to only select three as there were too many gorgeous styles. So, now that you know about the brand, lets get to this BERLOOK swimsuit review!

First up is the BERLOOK Cut Out Tie One Piece Swimsuit in the colour Coffee. This particular swimsuit comes in about 14 different colours and designs, but I regularly wear a lot of neutrals and browns, so I thought the Coffee shade would be perfect for me. I took size medium in it (I’m usually a small in clothing) and it fits pretty well. I don’t like my swimwear to be too tight as it can cause dents and skin pressure, but I would say it definitely runs true to size, so I could possibly fit a small!

The tie feature at the front of the bust is really good as it allows you to have it tighter or smaller, creating more cleavage, or more ruching, so it’s suited to most breast sizes. It’s pretty comfortable and the straps are also adjustable, making it a pretty versatile swimsuit in my opinion. It has decent coverage on the butt, which is important in family pools, and the best part is that it only costs £36!

Then we have this fabulous bikini! It’s the BERLOOK Lurex Halter Triangle Bikini Top in Pink with the matching Pink Tie Side Bikini Bottoms. This is such an amazing colour as it’s a cute, girly pink, with metallic silver thread woven into it to make it glittery and sparkly! I did take both the top and the bottoms in size medium, however I definitely could have gotten away with a small on the bottoms. I love that you can buy the pieces separately, so you can choose what sizes you need.

This bikini makes me feel really cute and girly because it’s pink and sparkly. The metallic thread can be a little bit scratchy on the skin in certain angles, but I’m guessing this isn’t the case when you’re in the water. As we’re still in winter, I haven’t yet been swimming, so I can’t wait to test them all out in the summer! This is more of a classic bikini with the halter top and tie sides, so it doesn’t offer a huge amount of support for larger breasts, but it’s fabulous in every way! Both pieces cost £28 each.

Lastly we have the BERLOOK V Neck O-Ring One Piece Swimsuit in Coffee. Again, this is a Coffee shade, as I love brown, but it’s a little bit lighter than the first swimsuit named Coffee. This one is actually my favourite for my figure as it’s incredibly flattering! If any of you know the Kibbe body scale, I come up as a Soft Classic, which is a softer, more subtle hourglass, so the belt around the middle really highlights the waist, while the v neck highlights cleavage, and the hip area gives a flattering coverage. So this swimsuit is perfect to show off an hourglass figure – I adore it! It’s the most flattering swimsuit I’ve ever tried.

The straps on this recycled swimsuit are not adjustable, they are one length, but they fit really well. The belt is also attached and not removable, which is great because it means it wont get lost! I took this one in size medium and it fits really well. I maybe could have sized down to a small in the body, but definitely not the chest. That’s why I love that the belt nips you in at the waist. This is my favourite by far and I 100% recommend it! For £44, you can’t go wrong! Plus, I have a discount code: for20 which gives you 20% off!

– Which recycled swimsuit do you love?
