I have always had such a soft spot for a romantic dress. That’s no secret! Not the kind that feels too overdone or impossible to wear in real life, but the sort of dress that you can put on and instantly feel like you’ve made an effort, even if the styling around it is actually quite simple. That’s always the sweet spot for me with feminine fashion — it needs to be beautiful, but it also needs to work for normal days, dinners, holidays, and those occasions where you want to feel a little bit more put together without feeling uncomfortable.

A black or tan bag, ankle boots, slingbacks, or a small top-handle bag can completely change the feel of the outfit. It stops the look from becoming too sweet and makes it feel more modern.

For a daytime look, I would style a RIHOAS midi dress with fashionable low tops and a small cross-body bag, very much the same kind of contrast I love with a bold dress and darker accessories. You can wear it with boots and a jacket during the day, with flats for a more relaxed look, or with heels and jewellery in the evening.
