The Romantic RIHOAS Dress Edit

Feminine Dresses That Feel Pretty, Polished, and Easy To Wear

I have always had such a soft spot for a romantic dress. That’s no secret! Not the kind that feels too overdone or impossible to wear in real life, but the sort of dress that you can put on and instantly feel like you’ve made an effort, even if the styling around it is actually quite simple. That’s always the sweet spot for me with feminine fashion — it needs to be beautiful, but it also needs to work for normal days, dinners, holidays, and those occasions where you want to feel a little bit more put together without feeling uncomfortable.

That’s one of the reasons I wanted to talk about RIHOAS, as the brand has that elegant, romantic feel that works so well if you love pretty dresses, soft blouses, knitwear, and slightly vintage-inspired pieces. What I like most is that their clothing has that feminine look, but it doesn’t feel too precious. You can style the pieces in a very polished way, but you can also make them more casual with boots, flats, denim, or a simple cardigan.

For this kind of wardrobe, I always think the dress does most of the work. A good midi dress, especially one with a flattering neckline, a defined waist, or a soft floral print, is one of the easiest things to wear. You don’t need to over-style it because the shape and details already create the outfit. That’s the value of a piece like this: it saves time, but still makes you feel like you’ve put thought into what you’re wearing.

I’m especially drawn to dresses that have a little movement to them. Anything too stiff can feel quite formal, and anything too clingy can be difficult to relax in, but a dress that skims the body and moves nicely when you walk always feels more flattering. I also love details like puff sleeves, delicate embroidery, V-necks, ruffles, and soft waistlines, and especially a tie-wrap waist, as they add something pretty without making the outfit look too busy.

The thing with romantic dresses is that the styling really matters. If the dress is very feminine, I usually like to ground it with something slightly more structured. A black or tan bag, ankle boots, slingbacks, or a small top-handle bag can completely change the feel of the outfit. It stops the look from becoming too sweet and makes it feel more modern.

For a daytime look, I would style a RIHOAS midi dress with fashionable low tops and a small cross-body bag, very much the same kind of contrast I love with a bold dress and darker accessories. There’s something about a romantic dress with black boots that just works, too, if you’re making a statement for the evening. It makes the outfit feel more wearable and a little less predictable. If the dress has warm tones, I’d probably go with gold jewellery as it complements those shades beautifully. If it’s a cooler colour, silver or pearls would look really pretty. Click here for one example of my styling for a navy dress.

For a more summer-focused outfit, I’d keep it softer with nude sandals, a woven bag, and minimal jewellery. I think this is where RIHOAS pieces make a lot of sense because many of them have that holiday-to-dinner feel. You could wear a floral midi dress for a weekend away, then bring it home and wear it again with a cardigan or blazer. I really appreciate pieces that don’t just sit in your wardrobe waiting for one specific event.

The same applies to their blouses and knitwear. A pretty blouse can be styled with jeans for a casual day, but it can also be tucked into a skirt or tailored trousers if you want something smarter. That versatility is what makes a brand useful. It’s not only about buying something because it looks nice online; it’s about whether you can actually imagine wearing it several different ways.

I also think RIHOAS has a good appeal for anyone who likes a feminine wardrobe but doesn’t want everything to look overly trend-led. Some brands go too far into fast trends, and then the pieces date very quickly. The more romantic, retro-inspired shapes tend to last longer because they’re based around silhouettes that have always been flattering: wrap-style dresses, midi lengths, soft knits, pretty blouses, and skirts with movement. I’m never a trend-focused girl, as you know.

One thing I would always recommend with these kinds of pieces is to pay attention to the sizing and the fabric description. I personally prefer having a little extra stretch in dresses, especially around the bust and waist, because I know I will wear them more if I feel comfortable. There’s nothing worse than loving how something looks but then avoiding it because it feels too tight when you sit down or move around. Sometimes sizing up slightly can make a dress look more relaxed and expensive, especially if the style is meant to have a soft, romantic shape.

I also think steaming makes a huge difference with feminine clothing. Dresses, blouses, and skirts can look so much better when the fabric is hanging properly. It’s such a simple thing, but it changes the whole outfit. A steamed dress with a structured bag and good shoes will always look more polished than a wrinkled dress with too many accessories.

What I really like about this style direction is that it gives you the feeling of dressing up without needing an occasion. A pretty dress doesn’t have to be saved for a wedding, a holiday, or a dinner date. You can wear it with boots and a jacket during the day, with flats for a more relaxed look, or with heels and jewellery in the evening. That’s when a piece becomes valuable in your wardrobe, because it gives you multiple outfits rather than just one. I literally live in dresses 90% of the time now.

RIHOAS is especially good for that woman who wants her wardrobe to feel feminine, elegant, and wearable at the same time. It’s for someone who loves romantic details, but still wants clothing that can fit into daily life. Whether it’s a floral dress, a soft knit, a pretty blouse, or a more polished officewear piece, the main benefit is that the pieces make getting dressed feel easier while still giving you that pretty, put-together feeling.

I think that’s what makes a romantic wardrobe work best. It shouldn’t feel complicated. It should make you feel confident, comfortable, and a little bit special, even on an ordinary day. A beautiful dress can do that so easily, and when it can be styled in several different ways, it becomes more than just a pretty purchase — it becomes something you actually reach for.

Please do let me know what you think of this style of dress and whether you love romantic, feminine pieces as much as I do. I always think they bring such a lovely charm to a wardrobe, especially when they’re styled in a way that still feels modern and wearable.

I agree, it’s a beautiful style, elegant and feminine. It’s a look that seems it could transition from day to evening with minimal effort. I’m totally with you, clothes should be worn and not kept for best! 🙂
