How To Style A Christmas Jumper Elegantly

I couldn’t not put that as a title! When I first saw this jumper/sweater, I immediately thought of that classic Chris Rea song ‘Driving Home For Christmas‘ as it says home bound underneath a London black taxi cab. I always love Christmas jumpers, no matter how bold, bright, crazy, or fun they are, but when I saw this one at New Look, I loved it for another reason – it’s simple, elegant, and super versatile, despite being covered in sequins and crystals. Plus, it’s extremely affordable! It’s only £25! I’ve actually worn this Christmas jumper three times already, with different outfits, but this look here is my favourite.

Before I get into the rest of the outfit, though, I wanted to update you on my Thyroid medication and how that’s going. I’m on day 16 of Levothyroxine today, and I am actually starting to feel better. I have more energy, I’m sleeping better, my mood has improved, I’m more alert with less brain fog, and I just feel better all around. I’m so glad to be feeling some improvements! You don’t know how happy this has made me. I’ve even lost two pounds in weight, which is amazing as nothing was working before! All of this has been because of Hypothyroidism. I’m still having stomach issues, but I have a private gastroenterologist appointment booked for three weeks time, as the antibiotics for SIBO did not work – fingers crossed!

Anyway, getting back to the outfit and how to wear a Christmas jumper in an elegant way, I styled this beautiful London Christmas Jumper with another piece from New Look – a Burgundy Satin Midi Skirt! I absolutely love the sheen and the purple shade of this skirt as it feels so festive and luxurious, even though it literally cost me around £15! It’s lightweight and so pretty, but I love how it pairs with the jumper, making a more casual item, elegant. Hasn’t it just totally elevated the knit?

To dress this festive ensemble up even more, I paired the skirt and jumper with some New Look Slim Calf Brown Faux Suede Boots, which makes it look even more classy. I have to get slim calf boots as my calves are quite thin, and even these were just a tiny bit loose for me, but they work. They’re so comfortable, too. I don’t usually find cheap footwear (around £50) to be comfy, but these are. I can’t recommend them enough! The deep brown suede pairs perfectly with the burgundy jewel tones of the outfit.

As you can see, all of these clothing pieces are super affordable. You probably don’t want to shell out too much on a Holiday outfit, just to wear it a few times in the year!

Finally, for my bag, I wore my brand new Saint Laurent Nano Sac de Jour in Cherry Jam! I originally saw this beautiful bag in Saks Fifth Avenue in Ohio, and I completely fell in love with the shade of burgundy that it is. It’s that rich, purple-undontoned deep red that suits my skintone perfectly.

I couldn’t get it out of my head this entire time, so I ended up purchasing it in the UK when I was back from the USA. I try not to buy anything European out there as it costs so much more with the import taxes to the US, plus state sales tax on top. It’s around £2200 over there, compared to £1950 here. You will be seeing this bag so much more in my outfits, too! If you’re looking for a bag this colour, though, I 100000% recommend it!
