How To Wear An Argyle Jumper For An Easy Autumn Day
I’m back with another collaboration with Very.co.uk, and I’m excited again! My last collaboration with them (how to wear Poetcore) was last month, so this next campaign is very quick, but I couldn’t pass it by! It’s all about the argyle jumper being the perfect trend for autumn!
I’m splitting this one into two parts! This first argyle jumper styling is about dressing it casually, perfect for an easy day or autumn walk, and the next blog post is going to showcase how to dress it up – two blog posts centred around styling a simple argyle jumper.
As you all know, Very.co.uk is my favourite company to collaborate with, after having worked with them so many times (in the double digits now), as they are a one-stop shop! You can buy everything from Allsaints, Mango, River Island to Marc Jacobs, Barbour and their own The Very Collection. They have all you need to get your new season wardrobe ready, every time one rolls around.
When it comes to styling argyle jumpers for autumn, there are so many ways in which you can go. You might think that argyle is mostly casual or reserved for golf, but that’s really not the case. You can dress this print up or down, depending on the colourway you choose. I chose this Vero Moda Doffy Jacquard Knit Jumper as I loved the dark brown and white colourway. This is a combination that works with absolutely everything!
For this outfit, I layered it over a brown smocked dress that I already owned, as the two shades of brown were a perfect match! I had a belt around my waist that I tucked the jumper into to give it more of a cropped appearance, so that it would look a little more feminine and go with the flow of the dress. This is something you can do to create nice lines when wearing a jumper over a dress – tuck it into a belt at the front for a styled look.
Now, since this is a casual way to wear an argyle jumper for a nice autumn walk in England, wellies are a great option for footwear! It’s usually always raining here, and on those days that it isn’t, and you fancy a nice walk in the crisp air, wellies are your best friend, as the ground is often still wet or muddy from the showers beforehand. I chose these Barbour Tall Checked Wellington Boots in Navy to go with this outfit. The plaid detailing on them just added a little more interest to the look.
I originally wanted the Hunter Refined Gold Trim Riding Wellington Boots as they were the perfect colour to complement this entire outfit, but they were out of stock. But as you can see from the stock photo, they would have been ideal. As it stands, though, the Barbour Wellies are great too and actually give it more of a casual vibe, as they have a chunky edge to them and the pattern juxtaposes the argyle jumper perfectly, in my opinion.
Now, to finish this casual look off, I elevated it slightly with my Coach Tabby 20 in Warm Brown Suede, as I thought this bag would be the perfect finishing piece. Then opted for a pair of Katie Loxton Santorini Sunglasses in Tortoiseshell. These tied it all together nicely and are great for those sunny autumn days. I think everything together works perfectly for this autumn-inspired argyle jumper outfit! What do you think? And as promised, I am going to be sharing outfit number two very soon, and that’s about dressing an argyle jumper up!
